Maybelline Eyestudio Gel Liner Review

One more brand gets onto the gel liner wagon and thankfully with a very reasonable pricing. Maybelline has launched their “EyeStudio Gel Liner” and EyeStudio Swirl Gel Liner”.

Maybelline says:

Creamy gel type allows to draw a smooth, clean line without crease. Customised eye line brush allows lines to be drawn as desired from fine to thick.

The creamy gel texture dries quickly after application.

Long lasting (24H), water-proof and smudge-proof formula that resists sweat, tears and water.

My experience:

I bought two of these liners, the Gel liner in Black and the Swirl Gel Liner in Brown and Gold. They come in very cute little glass pots with an eyeliner brush. The Swirl liner has brown and gold colours swirled in the pot in a way that either colour can be used individually or mixed together to make a beautiful bronze

The texture is truly creamy and smooth and applying the liner is a dream. I was really surprised with the quality of the brush, it is truly excellent and gives good control over the thickness of the line. Though, actually, for a really thin tightline, you might need a finer brush.

The colours are really pigmented. As you can see in the swatch, the black is a very nice jet black and the brown is quite dark too. even the bronze looks really beautiful and the gold, by itself can be used as eyeshadow as well.

However, you have to be careful that you dont smudge while it’s “setting”. Once it sets and is dry, it really is smudge-proof and fade-proof. I even used it on my waterline and it didn’t smudge there either. This liner lasted on my eyes for almost 14hours!!! I cant comment on the “water-proof” factor yet coz I didnt cry while I was wearing it and neither did I get wet in the rains ;). But for now, I must say that I really love this product.
