Pure Super Active Overnight Oil Review

A few days ago, I had accompanied my friend to Marks and Spencer and I was just having a look around when I spotted some new skincare. One particular product that caught my eye was an overnight oil which claims it “softens, nourishes and restores tired skin”. It also has a”naturally active complex with omega 3 and omega 6″.

I was even more intrigued when i read this on the package:
“All Pure products are created using efficacious active natural ingredients, all of which are sustainable and responsibly sourced”. This oil also doesn’t contain any artificial colours, synthetic fragrance, parabens, silicones and mineral oil.

Ingredients: (I had to type out the ingredients from the pack so please excuse any typos) – Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (sweet almond) oil, Borago Officinalis (starflower) seed oil, Argania Spinosa (argan) kernel oil, Ribes Nigrum (blackcurrent) seed oil, Tocopherol, Parfum, Anthemis Noblis (chamomile) flower oil, Linalool, Pelargonium Graveolens (geranium oil), Citrus Aurantium Amara (petitgrain) Leaf/Twig oil, Citronellol, Limonene, Geraniol.

Priced at Rs. 799 for 12ml, I found it quite affordable as compared to similar oils and serums from other high end brands and so I bought it immediately. I actually read the ingredients list only after reaching home and was quite impressed with composition of this oil.

The oil comes in a transparent glass bottle with a dropper in the screw on cap. The dropper ensures that you get just the right amount of product so that there is no wastage. Since it is an oil, just a drop or two are required for the entire face.

It is a pale yellow, light oil (not too thick) and it does take some time to get absorbed into the skin. It has a pleasant fragrance which smells like a combination of lavender and citrus (the fragrance is added) and has an uncanny resemblance to the fragrance of Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Serum. The morning-after, skin feels nourished and soft, and I felt just a bit oily around my nose but that is probably coz I have oily Tzone.

I have been using this since just a week but i feel that this is a good product for dry/ageing skin, especially during winter. Whether this will agree with my skin in summer to turn it into a shiny disco ball remains to be seen. As of now,I am quite happy with this product.

The only problem is the availability. I have only seen this at the Marks and Spencer store and nowhere else. If there is an M&S near you, I would recommend that you give this oil a shot.
