Brighten Your Day With OPI Elephantastic Pink….And Its Dupe

Remember that post where I talked of Chanel’s Taboo and it’s “kumbh ke mele mein bichda hua” twin, Bourjois polish? Well, you can read that here. There’s one more member of the Bourjois family who has a more expensive twin. Let’s talk of that expensive twin here….

It’s OPI Elephantastic Pink!

OPI Elephantastic Pink

If you follow me on Facebook, then you might be knowing that I have been very impressed with one OPI polish that lasted a full week on my nails with just minimal fading on the tips. Yes, it is this Elephantastic pink which has achieved this feat that even my other OPI polishes haven’t.
Before I continue, let me tell you that I’m writing this post from my phone. The pics too are taken on the phone en route Lonavala so please excuse the shadows etc.

The colour is a beautiful bright pink with a hint of warmth which looks fabulous on fair to medium skin tones. I think it would even look good on darker skin tones. The bright, cheerful pink instantly brightens up my day 🙂

The formulation of this polish is excellent. Not too thick, not too thin, non streaky and goes opaque in two coats. And of course, it lasts really long. The brush is also nice and thick andakes for a pothy application.
The only thing I don’t like about this is its price! From Rs. 520, OPI has hiked its price to Rs. 670!!!
Anyway, coming back to the twin…ze Dupe…

It is Bourjois So Laque #62 Rose Imaginaire. These two are IDENTICAL! In fact, even the formulation and brush of both are quite similar. Though Rose Imaginaire doesn’t last on my nails for a week, it’s good for 3-4 days.

Let’s play spot the difference. I’ve actually worn OPI on my first two fingers and Bourjois on the ring and little fingers which is why I’m holding the bottles like this. Can you make out any difference?

Unfortunately, Bourjois too, has hiked its prices and this polish costs Rs. 470.

With these two polishes, I’m definitely not going to need a bright pink polish for quite some time…lol.
What do you think of this colour?
