L’Oreal Casting Creme Gloss Makes Hair Colouring As Easy As 1-2-3.

Due to a combination of genetics and premature greying, I’ve been colouring my hair since a few years now. While there have been times when I’ve tried to go back to the “natural” colours like henna etc, the whole process is so messy, smelly and time consuming that I always come back to hair colours.
Ever since L’Oreal Paris India’s Ammonia-free hair colour, Casting Creme Gloss, has been launched in, it has been my hair colour of choice. Specifically, shade no. 500, Medium Brown. While the colour, medium brown, appears to be quite light in the picture, it blends pretty well with the natural dark brown of my hair. In the sunlight, the brown tint looks really pretty and, it also covers all my greys….Win-win wouldn’t you say?

Colouring my hair with Casting Creme Gloss has become a part of my monthly routine, much like a monthly manicure or a pedicure. All it takes is half an hour and is as simple and easy as 1-2-3! Really…

Contents of a pack of Casting Creme Gloss, ammonia-free hair colour
Each pack of Casting Creme Gloss (which by the way, is an ammonia-free hair colorur), has a Creme Colourant in a pretty pink tube, a Developer Cream in a bottle and a Nutri-Shine Conditioner with Royal Jelly. It also has a pair of gloves and an instruction sheet.
Didn’t I say colouring hair with Casting is as easy as 1-2-3? All you have to do is…
L'Oreal Casting Creme Gloss - instructions

1) Squeeze out the Cream Colourant from the tube into the Developer bottle. Shut the bottle and give it a thorough shake so that the colourant and developer get mixed properly.

2) On damp hair (washed the previous day but made wet before colouring), part the hair into sections and apply the mixture concentrating on the roots. Leave on the colour for 15 minutes. Then apply the remaining colour to the lengtht of the hair and leave on for another 5 minutes.
3) Rinse off the hair colour (make sure you keep rinsing till the water runs clear), apply a generous amount of the Nutri-Shine Conditioner. Leave on for 5-10 minutes and rinse. Et voila…it’s done!
I tried to take pictures of me colouring my hair but it was extremely difficult to do myself. Couldn’t ask anyone to take pics for me either…
Anyway, here’s how my hair looks after a fresh colouring job with Casting Creme Gloss. Notice the slight brown tint in my hair? Looks absolutely natural too, and not light brown like on the box. Which is why I have stuck to this colour since the start because anything darker than this would make my hair look too dark. I feel this colour is just perfect for me…..

Previously, when I had used hair colour with ammonia, my eyes used to sting, burn and water like crazy all the time that the colour was on my hair. And the eyes would remain red and watery for the rest of the day. With Casting Creme Gloss, I experience no such discomfort. There is ZERO stinging of the eyes and no disgusting smell either since it is ammonia-free. In fact, Casting has a really lovely fruity fragrance that I love.
Having used Casting Creme Gloss right from the time it was first launched in India, I can definitely vouch for it’s efficacy and gentleness. It also has a great shade range with colours that would look fab on Indian skintones. I do feel tempted at times to try out their “Chocolate” shades but then I feel those might be too dark.
