My Current Skincare Regime – Transitioning Into Winter

A month ago,  I had introduced some new products into my skincare regime. Two weeks after that,  I was really happy with the slow and steady improvement that I noticed and I put up a bare-faced selfie on instagram.  That picture, (which I can’t seem to find on my phone right now but you can see it here), along with my Diwali picture…….

current skincare regime - Transitioning Into Winter. Indian Shringar

……got me several comments as well as emails asking me about my skincare routine.  So in this post, I’ll briefly show you all the products that I have been using morning and night and also tell you about the two recent additions, one of which is marvellous and the other, a fail as of now.

Take a look at the products, three of which are Korean products from the Memebox….

CLEANSER

Current skincare routine - Enesti Rice and Milk Foaming Cleanser
Once I remove my makeup (if I’m wearing any that day) with the Clarins Total Cleansing Oil (reviewed here) this is cleanser I use. If I’m not wearing makeup and there’s no need for double cleansing, then I only use this one to wash my face. One of the products in the Memebox Special #7 Milk, it is a gentle yet effective, richly foaming cleanser. When the Koreans say “foaming” they don’t mean just a rich lather, they actually mean foam. Just a pea-sized drop of this cleanser gives rich, soft foam that is enough to cleanse the entire face. Though it doesn’t remove eye makeup, I really love the Enesti Rice & Milk Foaming cleanser. Wonder when this tube will get over though, since I need just a small quantity. I already have another foaming milk cleanser (from the My Cute Wishlist 3 – shall review that box soon) waiting for it’s turn once this one is over and another cleanser from my Cafe box.

PEEL

Swanicoco Gentle Snail Peeling gel in current skincare regime
The Swanicoco Snail Gommage Peeling Gel is another wonderful Korean product from the Memebox. This one came in the Memebox from Nature and I have already written a detailed rave review about it here. I use it just once a week and it definitely has reduced the number of black heads and white heads on my face.

ESSENCE

Eon Yufit Wheatgerm Essence in my current skincare routine.
THIS. IS. MY. CURRENT. FAVOURITE. PRODUCT! Total HG (Holy Grail). Thank you Memebox for sending the EON Wheatgerm 97 Essence into my life. This little miracle worker came in the Memebox Special #24 Brightening Special and claims to have whitening, anti-aging, moisturising and brightening benefits. And seeing my skin after a month of using it, I can definitely say that it lives up to it’s claims. I won’t write more about it here because a product as fabulous as this deserves an entire, detailed post, doesn’t it?

SERUM

Michael Todd True Organics Antioxidant Carrot Multivitamin serum in current skincare routine
From Korea, we go to America for a lovely, lightweight VEGAN and 75% certified ORGANIC serum from Michael Todd True Organics. The Antioxidant Carrot Multivitamin Serum is meant for normal to oily skin and repairs and prevents future skin damage. With ALA, Vitamin B3, C and E, this helps keep the skin bright while preventing the signs of aging. Feels a bit sticky while applying but once absorbed, it doesn’t feel oily at all. Shall review it in detail soon.

MOISTURISER (DAY)

Chanel Hydramax + Active gel cream in current skincare routine.
I seal in all the moisture and goodness from the essence and serum with the Chanel Hydramax + Active Gel Creme that I have been using since more than two months (reviewed here). Since I am layering the products, I just need small quantities of each product. Think of it as layering your clothes during winter. Three thin layers of apparel will work better than one thick sweater, wouldn’t they? Same thing with skin care 🙂 . While it can be used day and night, I use it only during the day.

SUNSCREEN (DAY)

L'Oreal UV Perfect Aqua Essence sunscreen in current skincare routine
This is my fourth bottle of the L’Oreal UV Perfect Aqua Essence Sunscreen. I’ve been using it since May this year and it is truly a wonderful sunscreen. The detailed review is here and if you’ve read it earlier, you’ll know that this sunscreen truly does prevent tanning.

FACIAL OIL (NIGHT)

Faran Facial Serum in current skincare routine.
After having tried the Clarins Lotus oil sample, I wanted to buy the full-sized bottle. Then, while going through my skincare stash, I found this little bottle of Faran Natural Face Serum that I had received in my Glam Guru bag (beauty bag from Israel – read post here) and decided to use that before buying a new bottle of oil. With oils from jojoba seed, avocado, wheatgerm, lavender among others, this “serum” is of 100% natural origin. Wonder why they write serum on the bottle when actually it is an oil. Since the weather had started becoming drier (though it is still really hot), this oil keeps my skin wonderfully soft and supple. One drop for the face and one for the neck is all I need over the essence and serum.
With products from Korea, Israel and USA pampering my face, another one from Australia also deserves a mention. The Mirenesse Pebblesonic that I have been using since Diwali day.
Mirenesse Pebblesonic in current skincare routine
Because it has been in use only since a week, I decided not to include it in this post. As mentioned earlier, I shall do an in-depth review on the Pebblesonic and it’s usage soon. This is the marvellous new addition I was mentioning in the beginning of the post.
And as for the fail…it is the Blithe Water Patting Pack from the Memebox Korea’s Most Wanted. Somehow, it just doesn’t work for me. It makes my face “bumpy” with tiny red spots and some of the spots become full blown pimples. Not nice. I’ve stopped using it as of now but will give it another shot. Perhaps I’ll use it just twice a week and see.
Anyway, this is what my current skincare looks like. Even before got into beauty blogging, I could never remain faithful to products (most of them at least. There have always been exceptions) and kept trying out new things and switching my routine (actually, that is the reason I started blogging) so I don’t know how long I’m going to stick to it. New, shiny, tempting products will come along and I might probably switch allegiances to them. But since the last month, and definitely for a couple more months, this is my skincare routine. The essence, serum and oil help in moisturising even combination skin now that winter is round the corner.
Which product would you like me to review first?
