L’Oréal Nude Magique Foundation Review 320 Natural Beige – The “Your Skin But Better” Foundation

I prefer foundations that give a light to medium coverage and that let the skin (and some of it’s flaws) show through. Some of my favourite foundations have been ones with light coverage, like the Lancome Teint Miracle (reviewed here) and the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua (reviewed here). So, of course, when L’Oreal Paris launched the Nude Magique, I was really eager to try it out, especially after I read about it’s “airy, lighter-than-water” texture. Here is my……

PACKAGING

The L’Oreal Paris Nude Magique foundation comes in a sleek glass bottle which is partially frosted on the top with the lower part showing the shade of the foundation inside. While the bottle is slim and compact, you have to handle it with care since it is made of glass. There is no pump either so you have to be careful with the quantity of the foundation that comes out.

TEXTURE AND SWATCH

L'Oreal Paris Nude Magique in 320 Natural Beige - swatch and texture

The L’Oreal Paris Nude Magique definitely does have a very thin and runny texture. You have to shake it well before applying.  It spreads easily and feels wonderfully soft and velvety while applying. It gives a satin-matte finish and makes the skin feel like velvet. I love products that live up to their claims and the L’Oreal Paris Nude Magique is certainly one of those products. It gives a bare-skin “your-skin-but-better” effect, just like the Chanel Vitalumiere but with a more velvety texture. Personally, I prefer the Nude Magique to Vitalumiere because of the texture.

When I start applying the foundation, I can faintly smell the alcohol in it but the smell dissipates almost as soon as I finish blending.

You don’t get a total matte look (who wants that anyway) but a fresh satin finish that, on my combination skin, starts getting shiny on the T-zone after 3-4 hours. The coverage is light but can be built up to medium. While it unifies the skintone and manages to conceal minor flaws and small freckles, it won’t totally cover the bigger/deeper acne spots or sun spots. Which is fine with me since it looks very natural. The shade 320 Natural Beige is an exact match for my skintone and blends in beautifully.

I have been wearing this foundation very frequently for all school meetings, dinners, blog events etc, and yet, I haven’t managed to take proper pictures with this on. Here are a couple of pictures to show you how natural it looks…

That brown spot you see on my forehead is a wound that I got a fortnight ago when I was going to buy some stuff from the store at the end of the lane. Some street urchins were playing “cricket” with a stone as their ball and it whacked me on my forehead momentarily leaving me dazed. Thankfully the swelling subsided in a few days but I’m still waiting for the mark to fade.

INGREDIENTS

L'Oreal Paris Nude Magique in 320 Natural Beige - ingredients.

As you can see from the ingredient list, it is absolutely loaded with all sorts of silicones. Which would explain the lovely, velvety texture. Silicones can aggravate acne but thankfully, the Nude Magique hasn’t made me break out (touchwood)! It also has an SPF 18, which isn’t much but at least it gives a wee bit of sun protection.

PRICE

Priced at ₹899 for 30ml, the L’Oreal Paris Nude Magique is certainly quite an affordable, daily use foundation. It is available in 6 shades to suit all Indian skintones and does feel weightless once applied. You actually don’t feel like you’re wearing foundation! You can check out all the six shades here.

MY THOUGHTS

I really love the lightweight texture of this foundation and the smoothness with which it blends. The Nude Magique is not recommended for use with brushes and sponges, which is absolutely fine with me since my preferred tool for foundation application are my fingers. The only gripe I have with this foundation is with it’s packaging. Either they could have packaged it in a plastic bottle with a nozzle à la Chanel or they could have given it with a pump so that it is easier to get the product out without any wastage.

Have you tried the L’Oreal Paris Nude Magique foundation? What sort of coverage do you prefer in your foundations? Do let me know in the comments.

  1. Thanks for reply dollie….hope u have enjoyed or weekend trip…

  2. The sunscreen is the last step in the skincare routine. Makeup starts after that. You can apply your foundation 10 minutes after you’ve applied the sunscreen.

  4. I have combination skin too and this foundation did not break me out.
You could try swatching it in the store on your jawline and let it be for a few hours to see if it breaks you out. But then, the testers at the site aren’t hygienic and that could cause you breakouts.

  5. I would like to try…but m scared to try foundations bcz the other day I end up with a pimple bcz mine is combination skin

  6. Hi Maria,
I hope you like it as much as I do. It really is a nice foundation for the price.
The kids who were playing were homeless urchins who live on the pavement outside a church in my area. A very common sight in India. I’m glad the stone didn’t hurt my eye.

  7. They were some street urchins who live on the pavement outside a church in my area. The wound is ok now, just the bruise needs to fade.

  8. Hello Dollie,

This looks beautiful on you. Personally, I have come to appreciate glass bottles, they are more hygienic. Plastic tends to have nasty chemicals in them, that can effect the foundation. A pump would have been a nice touch. This sounds wonderful..I think a trip to the drugstore is in order…for the price, I could definately have fun experimenting. Cricket with a stone? I’m glad you are alright, it could have been worse.
