Last week, L’Oreal Paris launched the new 2015 Cannes makeup collection at a special press conference with Sonam Kapoor and Katrina Kaif. The weeks leading up to the press con saw L’Oreal running a major contest across it’s social media and the winners of this contest got to walk on stage with the gorgeous superstars. As beauty bloggers, we too were invited to attend the conference and were put in either team Marvellous Matte (Sonam’s team) or team Glamorous Gloss (Katrina’s team). Here are some pictures and also my look and outfit details….
Standing next to Katrina made me aware how “vertically challenged” I am…lol. Even in 3″ heels! She is anyway really tall and was wearing super high heels as well.
Katrina prefers her pucker nicely plumped up and glossy. In all these years, I haven’t seen her wearing matte lips at all. Co-incidentally, that day, she and I both were wearing the exact same shade of L’Oreal Color Riche Extraordinaire, Plum Quartet (Price ₹950).
The L’Oreal Cannes 2015 collection has some amazing shades of Gel Intenza gel eyeliner, new shades in the Color Riche Extraordinaire gloss (or liquid lipstick if you please) as well as Swarovski embellished, limited edition Moist Matte lipsticks.
Initially, I thought the shade Plum Quartet wouldn’t suit my skintone since it is a very cool-toned, blue based colour, but I think it looked quite nice. What do you think? I also loved the pigmentation and staying power of this “gloss” because it actually lasted me all day! Through lunch, coffee and dinner!!!
The Color Riche Extraordinaire isn’t really a gloss. I would call it a liquid lipstick because of it’s amazing pigmentation and longevity. This lip swatch that I clicked at the end of the day will show you how well it lasted. Of course, I had applied a light layer of foundation on my lips to give the gloss something to cling to.
On my eyes, I was wearing the gorgeous new gel liner by L’Oreal, the Gel Intenza (price ₹875) in shade Royal Blue. It is an incredibly beautiful shade and very difficult to capture accurately in the photographs too. You can see exactly how it looks in the closeup of my eye….
The lip and eye pictures were taken 12 hours after I applied my makeup! As you can see, the concealer has faded and creased and my dark circles are showing through but the gel liner hasn’t budged! It is as neat and precise as I had applied it in the morning. A truly fabulous product, don’t you think? The colour too, is gorgeous and gives a nice touch of colour to the eyes without looking too “pop” or “teenybopper”.
Those of you who follow me on Instagram would have seen me go gaga over this dress. It is part of the Signature collection and is by designers Pankaj and Nidhi. I saw it at the Wills Lifestyle Spring-Summer 2015 launch and I. Just. Had. To. Have. It!!! The store didn’t have my size in it but they called for it from another store. I didn’t want to risk it being sold out in my size at that store either. There’s a royal blue bodycon dress that can be worn by itself or with the white embroidered high-low tunic on top.
Here are a couple of more pictures to show you my makeup….
Each year, L’Oreal’s Cannes collection keeps getting better. I’m in love with the Gel Intenza and have been wearing it everywhere! I’m definitely going to buy the other shades in these. And as for those crystal encrusted lipsticks in the L’Oreal Cannes 2015 collection, let’s keep those for another post.
Do let me know what you think of my makeup and dress in this look 🙂
