Each season, Lakme launches a new makeup collection in keeping with the theme at the Lakme Fashion Week. And each season, the products turn out to be fabulous and raise my expectations for the next one. For Autumn/Winter 2016, Lakme launched the Illuminate 2.0 Collection, an updated version of it’s previous Illuminate Collection (reviewed here) with limited edition products created in collaboration with ace designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee. One of these products is the Lakme Absolute Sun-Kissed Bronzer – and that’s the product I’m reviewing today.

Lakme Absolute Sun-Kissed Bronzer
Price ₹725 / 9gm. Available here.
The Lakme Absolute Sun-Kissed Bronzer was the first product I tried from among the lot and I absolutely LOVE it! It has great pigmentation and while the shimmer isn’t noticeable in the pan, it’s true beauty shows up when swatched. The bronzer also has fabric-inspired, warp-and-weft embossing which looks lovely and very luxurious. Chanel too, had products inspired by it’s iconic Tweed jackets and it gladens me that an Indian beauty brand has come out with such a beautiful looking product with such good pigmentation at such an affordable price.
When I first swatched the bronzer, I felt that it was too shimmery and so, unsuitable for daily wear . However, I was mistaken because when I wore it, it looked beautiful and radiantly glowy with no obvious shimmers. It is finely milled and has a smooth texture too. Because of it’s pigmentation, you need a very light hand to apply this so that you don’t go overboard.
As you can see in the swatches, it does look very shimmery but when worn…
…it is true to it’s name and gives a sun-kissed radiant bronzed look. Without any shimmers / glitters making you look like a shiny disco ball.
On me, the Lakme Absolute Sun-Kissed Bronzer lasts very well too! Both the times that I wore it, it lasted me for a good 5 hours before I cleansed it off. In fact, it lasted me through a night of garba and dandiya and looked fab despite the sweat I worked up!
Honestly, this is one product that I highly, highly recommend this festive season. The bronzer is beautiful, pigmented, has a lovely, soft texture and gives a radiant, glowy look. Best of all, it costs a fraction of what other bronzers from high-end international brands cost without compromising on quality. Oh, and I love the fabric-inspired embossing too.
