Tarte SmoulderEYES Liner Review

Hubby’s travelling again and I’m always in a bad mood when he’s away. Add to that the terrible Bombay heat, the traffic and you have a sure shot combination for a volcano eruption. The molten lava was bubbling just under the surface when I returned home after picking up sonny boy from his nursery and what I saw waiting for me totally transformed my mood…..

TARTE BABY IT’S BOLD OUTSIDE!

There’s this blog I love reading, Best Things in Beauty. It’s about, what else, the best (and most of the times, most expensive) things in beauty. She manages to pick out such beautiful gems from the plethora of beauty, skincare, fragrance products available in the market!

This was a limited edition set that was launched during Christmas 2012 and has five full size smoulderEYES Amazonian clay waterproof liners in Champagne (a pale rose gold), Gold (more of a bronze colour), Gunmetal (a pewterish brown), Ash Violet (purple) and Rainforest Black (dark green). It also has a full size skinny smoulderEYES in Onyx (dark black). All the infers have a smudge tip on the other end to help in creating smokey eyes. This set also comes with a sharpener to sharpen these thick liners.

The liners are intensely pigmented and the swatches you see here, are just one swipe! And they set really fast too. In a matter of seconds, the liner sets, the pigment adheres to your skin and then refuses to budge.

I have the swatches on my hand since afternoon and they are STILL there intact even as I’m writing this! This last picture is of the liner swatches as they are after 7 hours of being on my arm. The only reason why the colours look so faded is coz I have been intermittently rubbing the swatch to see if the liner gets smudged or wiped off after 3/4/5/6 hours of wear. Yes, the colours fade but only after so much rubbing. And I don’t think I’m going to be rubbing my eyes so much.

Its going to be fun trying all these out. The champagne will look lovely on the waterline with winged liner and red lips…what say? And all the colours are so pretty, I can’t decide which one I like the most.

Which colour did you like the most?

And hey, which of you Bombay bloggers am I going to meet at the Soulflower blogger meet on Sunday?
