Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Rendezvous.

I have been lusting after these stout little babies since they were launched but I resisted coz I really didnt need any new lip colours. But then I finally succumbed to the temptation and bought one in a colour that my makeup wardrobe is deficient in….

I bought Rendezvous, a light, bright, very wearable orange.

What do I write about the absolutely adorable packaging that hasn’t already been written on countless blogs across the world? These balm stains are like thick, stubby colour pencils that don’t need sharpening. The outer packaging is similar to the colour within with a same colour cap. The silver part at the bottom of the pencil is from where you twist up the product.

The name balm stain perfectly describes the texture and pigmentation of these lippies. The texture is moist and creamy like a lip balm, though not waxy and it glides over your lips so easily. With these balm stains, I found that I don’t really need to layer lip balm underneath as it is quite moisturising.
The wonderful pigmentation coats your lips with a lovely coat of moist colour that seems to cling to the lips and gives a finish that’s between satin and glossy. The sheen of the colour lasts for 2-3 hours though the stain that it leaves on the lips lasts much longer. On me it lasted for 7 hours, including a meal and coffee without any touch ups! Quite admirable isn’t it?

On the hand swatch the colour appears to have a teeny bit of shimmer in it. Thankfully the shimmer doesn’t show up on the lips. However, the colour does appear a bit darker on my lips than on the hand but that could be probably coz I have pigmented lips.

Okay….now don’t laugh at the picture. This is the only pic I have if me wearing this lipstick. I wore it on Sunday for the Indiblogger-Neutrogena Blogger Meet and didnt have time to take pics except for this silly one I took on my BB. No the car was not in motion when I clicked the pic, I had stopped at a red light.

These balm stains are priced at Rs. 600 in India whereas they are much cheaper in USA. Personally, I feel they are a very good buy at this price because they actually do combine the qualities of a balm and a stain. Lasts quite a long while too! And they do have some lovely colours. I’m still trying to resist the temptation of buying a couple more of these.

Which colours do you have? Do you like these as much as I do?

PS – I haven’t put the “Kissable” part of the name to test yet…..have you?
