Beauty Tag: Shop Your Stash (And Re-discover Forgotten Beauties)

The gorgeous Ankita of Corallista had recently written about a beauty tag called “Shop Your Stash” wherein you go through your entire collection and “shop” for the things you’ve never used or barely used and are just lying there forgotten. So you basically re-discover your hidden beauties and yet get the thrill of having “new” (well, relatively speaking) products. So here are some of the products I’ve re-discovered.
1) MAC Paint Pot Rubenesque
I had bought this Paint Pot a few months ago after reading an old post on Makeup Monologues in which Ikya raved about this product. I used it once or maybe twice and then forgot all about it simply coz I rarely use eyeshadows.
2 & 3) Chanel Illusion D’Ombre in Apparence and Ebloui
I had bought these last year when my friend was getting married (don’t we girls just love an excuse to splurge on high end products;)) and I used these to create lovely sparkly, smokey eyes for most of the wedding functions. Then they somehow got lost in the chaos of my makeup drawer till I embarked on this treasure hunt and found them.
4) L’Oreal ColorAppeal Eyeshadow in Metal Plum
This one too, was purchased at the time of my friend’s wedding but I haven’t used this even once till date!!!

5) The Body Shop Eye Definer in Carbon Blue
Used maybe a couple of times and then forgot about it coz of the arrival of YSL’s eye pencil in blue.
6 & 7) Bourjois Khol & Contour in Vert Expressif and Prune Moderne
Both lovely colours but neglected coz of lack of pigmentation. Or maybe its my eyelids that have more pigmentation, but these “Intense Colour in just 1 stroke” didn’t really deliver the one time that I wore them. Need to give them a second try…

8) Lancôme La Base Pro
I got this as part of a GWP along with some Lancôme stuff mom had got for me from USA. And I can’t believe I haven’t even tried it once yet!!!
9) MAC Studio Sculpt SPF 15 in NC 42
I used to be NC42 Studio Tech but this one feels a bit too dark. I’ve stashed it away to use when I go for a beach holiday to use when I tan.

10) MAC Lustreglass in Ensign
One of those impulsive buys that I later put inside and forgot about. I haven’t tried this out layered over different lipsticks, but I’m sure I can make it work for me.
11) Bourjois Effet 3D Max in Peche Shiny
Used this once, disliked the plastic applicator, pushed it into the dark recesses of my drawer. Will give it a second chance.
12) Chanel Levres Scintillantes in Sweet Beige
My beloved Chanel gloss, the perfect shimmery n*de, how could I have neglected you and forgotten about you? Im so sorry…mwah.
13) Revlon Plump Sexxxy Lipcolour in Sassy
A beautiful beige, perfect for using with smokey eyes but without proper makeup can make one look washed out. I haven’t been wearing much makeup these days, especially not elaborate smoky eyes so this one has been neglected.
14) Bourjois Rouge Edition in Fuchsia Graffiti
How did I forget this gorgeous colour? I guess the reason was Elizabeth Arden’s Ceramide lipstick in Watermelon, a lovely bright easy-to-swipe-and-run-out-of-the-house pink which I’ve been using frequently since I bought it.
15) Maybelline ColorSensational in Fuchsia Crystal
Darker than Fuchsia Graffiti, the reason I forgot about this is the same as above.
16) Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge in Brun Prodige
A reddish brown colour with a tinge of gold shimmer, this lipstick was gifted to me. But I haven’t had a proper occasion where I can wear a colour such as this.
17) Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Blush
Bought this at the same time as Revlon Colorburst Peach which I’ve reviewed earlier on the blog. Don’t know why I’ve never worn this.
18) The Body Shop Lip Balm Vanilla Bliss
Where was this hiding??? I haven’t even opened the seal yet and this was purchased in December. Clearly something wrong with me.
Whew….quite a long list isn’t it? And there are eyeshadow palettes that I haven’t included in this coz then it would have become even longer…..
Anyway, I tag my friends to do this fun post too. Would love to see what you come up with:
Renu of My Beauty Junction
Shikha of Sorelle Grapevine
Ikya of Makeup Monologues
Niesha of Indian Beauty Forever
Bhumika of New Love Makeup
Karishma of Ginger Snaps
Shanaya of Little Miss Sinner
Richa of Corals With Blues

And all the rest of you. This is really a fun post. I enjoyed hunting and re-discovering these treasures 🙂

Droooooooool! If I had Chanel eyeshadow in my stash I would be hopping around the world on one foot screeching! Actually with the BOurjois Kohl and Contour, don’t use it in the waterline – use it only on proper skin, and that too after swatching it once on the hand or something. For some reason, unless you warm it on the skin first, the colour won’t come out (top tip from Bourjois SA!)
