Revlon Nail Art Neon Nail Enamel in Pink Glow.

Has it ever happened with you that you eagerly anticipate a product’s arrival in store, you crave to get your hands on it use it but when you finally get it, it doesn’t live up to your expectations. And you get so disappointed that you don’t even feel like taking nice, creative pictures of it or write a review about it for days and days……

Revlon Nail Art Neon Nail Enamel is a product that I was eagerly hounding the Revlon counters near me for. When, finally, they were available, I was extremely tempted to buy a whole bunch of colours, especially the neon ones, but I restrained myself and bought just one….Pink Glow.

This new collection of Nail Art polishes comes in duel-sided packaging with two different colours on either end and the caps with brushes in the center. The neon polishes all have an opaque white colour on one end and the neon polish at the other, the idea being that an opaque white base makes the neon colour truly pop.

The texture of the white polish reminded me of the white shoe polish I used during my school days to polish my tennis shoes! It is as thick as that and as a result, streaky too! I’ve applied one coat of the white polish on my nails and you can see how uneven and streaky the finish is.

I waited till the white polish was completely dry before applying one coat of the neon colour. That is also quite thick and streaky and though the colour does pop on the white base, the streaky finish looks terribly uneven. I think you’re meant to get the neon colour with two coats, one of white and one of neon, but with such streaky finish, I decided to apply a second coat of colour once the first one dried.

After the second coat of neon, the colour does look better, but if you look closely, you can see that it is still streaky. Also, because the polish itself is so thick, three coats combined make it even thicker and by evening, the polish was chipping in big chunks from my nails 🙁 and I had to remove it. I wore it again after three days, this time, being much more careful in application but I had the same streaky results.  I think I’ll add a couple of drops of nail polish remover to make it a bit thinner and see if I still get the same effect. Also, once it dries, the effect is neither glossy/shiny nor matte. It’s a dull something in-between

The colour is really beautiful and at Rs. 300, I could have called it good value for money, had it given me a good, shiny, non-streaky, even finish. But for the kind of results I got, I would call it money down the drain. Though, like I said, I won’t give up. I’ll definitely try to thin it out and apply again and see.

Yoou can see it in the second & third pic so very clearly…So streaky….This happens with Revlon at times…very few of their nail lacquers turn out well….

Silhouette is a metallic and I believe quite pigmented too. The opaque white here is what’s causing the streaks I feel.

Had read your review on MoonCandy but the glitters are too big and chunky for my liking. I’ll try some other colour from Expressionist range and the nail stickers.

I avoided getting these due to the white part. Try Moon Candy or the Nail Stickers. They are good

  15. Both the shades looks charming on your nails dear 🙂
