Lancôme Gloss In Love #144 Review and Swatch

Hands up how many of you can remember the figure of speech “Transferred Epithet” that we learnt in grammar in school? Those of you who don’t remember, here’s a refresher:
Transferred Epithet: A figure of speech in which an epithet or adjective grammatically qualifies a noun other than the person or thing it is actually describing. Eg. Sleepless night.

Now, you might be wondering what is the connection between a figure of speech and Lancôme gloss and nail polish, right? Well, the minute I wore the lipgloss and applied the nail polish, my mind went “Eureka! The name of this collection is a transferred epithet! Because, it is not the Rouge/Vernis/Gloss that is “In Love”, it is the person wearing it who has fallen in Love with it!”

Ok, enough of the grammar lesson. Let me show you why you’re gonna fall in love with the Gloss in Love and the Vernis In Love…..

Recently, I won the Gloss In Love Mini in a Lancôme fb contest and the colour they gave me, 144 Glittermania, was a perfect match for the Vernis In Love, 105M Corail In Love. So with the coral on my lips, and coral on my tips, I decided to do this post. But because it would be too long, I’m doing it in two parts, first, the Gloss, and in part 2, the Vernis.

Gloss In Love #144, Glittermania

What Lancôme says about Gloss In Love:

Our moisturising lip gloss envelops lips in a brilliant high-shine, while our innovative double-sided applicator provides customisable coverage. Our unique curved Lip Shaper coats the lower lip while the pointed Lip Liner precisely defines the upper lip for a sophisticated look
Glittermania is described as Bright Pinky Coral with Golden Shimmer. The description is absolutely accurate and this is a beautiful colour for Indian skin tones. I’ve used Lancôme’s Juicy Tubes glosses before and have been disappointed at their lack of pigmentation and super-stickiness. Gloss In Love, however, made me fall in love with it. It has lovely pigmentation, micro-shimmery glitter which is not gritty at all and best of all, this gloss is not sticky!

This is how the gloss looks on my pigmented lips in the sunlight. It lasted me for almost 5 hours, through coffee and cookies and even after that, though the shine faded, it left some glitter behind along with a stain. Here’s how it looked after 5 hours of wear time. The pic was taken in white light at night (quite a nice rhyme isn’t it?)

As you can see, even after 5 hours, it looks as though I have a shimmery lipstick on. It also makes my lips feel soft and moisturised and yes, I’m repeating myself when I say that it is NOT sticky at all!

Since I had won an Fb contest, I got the mini gloss, which has the normal twist-up cap. But the full-sized tube has a click-top cap which is really cool. The curved applicator also looks nice but I don’t see much of a difference in application between this and a normal doe-foot applicator. I want #385 next which is a bright pink with shimmer but I’m going to practise some self restraint and go on a shopping ban. This goes on my Diwali list.
Have you tried this gloss? What do you think of it?
