Embarking On A New Winter Skincare Regime…..

So there’s a nip in the air (finally!) and dryness too. Seems like winter is finally arriving in Bombay. Or, you know, what passes off as winter in this seaside, tropical city. It never gets cold enough to wear woollens but we can atleast layer a bit, something I can’t think of doing otherwise.

The dryness in the air makes my combination skin a bit drier too and so, I decided to start a new  winter skincare regime….

Forest Essentials, Clarins, Auravedic, Shiseido, Thalgo, Kiehl's, Keraskin

Cleanser:
Forest Essentials Delicate Facial Cleanser Kashmiri Saffron and Neem.
I used to use Forest Essentials cleanser way back in 2004 when they had just newly launched and the big bottle of cleanser used to be priced at Rs.350. It was my HG cleanser for almost two years. But we women can be very fickle when it comes to matters of the skin and so I got tempted with other brands. I still love the Clarins Cleanser with Cottonseed (reviewed here) but while browsing through the Forest Essentials store, I couldn’t help but pick up the small 50ml (Rs. 250) bottle of this….for old times sake.

Toner:
Clarins Alcohol-Free Toning Lotion With Iris
I had tried a sample of this toner that I got when I had bought the cleanser. I finally bought this toner after finishing my Lancôme one. Will review it in detail soon.

Weekly Scrub:
Auravedic Pure Lightening Skin Polish
I recently won an awesome hamper from Elle during their Beauty Awards twitter contest. Among the other goodies was this scrub from Auravedic. No parabens, no SLS..looks impressive. I’ve used it just twice and I quite like it. Again, detailed review shall come soon.

Eye Creams:
Shiseido Benefiance WrinkleResist 24 Eyes
Detailed review here.

Thalgo Collagen Eye Roll-On
Detailed review here.
No new products here. I’m continuing with these two.

Serum:
Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution
Its been quite some time since I bought this ( they gave me the sample of the BB Cream with it) but the couple of times I used it, I felt it made my face feel oilier and stickier. Now that my skin is slightly drier, I feel I can start using this regularly. And I seriously need this to work its so-called wonders on my acne marks.

Moisturiser with SPF:
Keraskin Voile Ultime SPF 30
You caught a glimpse of this moisturiser here. Mom had give me some Kerastase goodies and this was part of it. Again, a bit rich for combination skin so I can give it a shot now. And the SPF 30 helps co I don’t need to layer a sunscreen over it.

So, these are the products I’m going to be using now. Have you made any changes in your skincare with the coming change in weather?

  1. The loccitane cream sounds fab :). I think they have a brightening lotion in the anglica range too…

  2. Am stopping the Kiehls CCDSS for a few days. Got 3 pimples and I think this is the culprit 🙁

Lovely set of products Dollie. I shifted my night cream from Shiseido White Lucent gel (which I love) to Loccitane Angelica cream which was a tad heavy for me in summers. Oh and I am planning to shift from Vichy Thermale foaming cleanser to something a bit more hydrating. In winters, I also exchange my LOtus spf40 sunscreen to a SPF 20 mousse sunscreen from VLCC. 🙂
