My Winter Holiday Skincare

Travelling gives me the chance to use up the samples and travel-sized products that I have (and I do have loads of those). Some of those products are for really dry skin and since my skin is combination and winters aren’t that severe in Mumbai, I really don’t get a chance to use those. Though with the onset of winter, I had embarked on a new skincare regime (read about it here), for my holiday to Rajasthan, I decided to use products meant for really dry skin. And I’m so glad I did that. My skin is glad too coz these products saved my skin from becoming dry, flaky and cracked in the cold, dry weather. Here are the products that I used…and loved……

My Winter Holiday Skincare

Winter skincare: Clarins, Dermalogica, The Body Shop, Chantecaille, Mary Kay

Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser With Cottonseed

I have used up an entire tube of this cleanser (read review here). This was my favourite cleanser till I got introduced to the Fresh and Faran cleansers.

Dermalogica Multi-Active Toner * Cruelty Free Brand *

Dermalogica Multi-Active toner
I usually don’t use face mists but I had got this toner as part of the Dermalogica Skincare Kit and had forgotten about it. This is truly an AMAZING toning mist for girls with dry skin or those living in very cold dry places. I applied the moisturiser immediately afterward and was pleasantly surprised with the way it increased the efficacy and hydration of the moisturiser. Though I was out sight-seeing the whole day, my skin didn’t get dry at all!!! I had no need to re-apply the moisturiser. Of course, it could also be because the moisturiser I used was also fab…

Chantecaille Magnolia Jasmine and Lily Healing Emulsion

Last year, I had won a beautiful Tarte eyeliner set and CG, the blogger on whose blog I won the giveaway, also enclosed several samples along with the liner set. This moisturiser was one of those samples. Apparently, it calms skin’s redness linked with stress, windburn, menopause etc. And true to its claims, it didn’t let my skin become red and flaky in the cold, windy desert air. Loved this moisturiser.

Mary Kay Extra Emollient Night Cream

Mary Kay Extra Emollient Night Cream
This was the product that totally blew me away with its awesomeness! Vellvette (now Fabbag) had sent it in my November bag and is a night cream for “very dry skin”. The texture is more like a thick balm rather than a cream and feels a bit sticky when you first apply it. Sticky, but not greasy. It gets absorbed easily and I LOVED the way my skin looked and felt in the morning. And I needed just a small pea-sized amount for the entire face! The contrast between the cold outdoors and the heated indoors can wreak havoc on the skin, but this cream is a true saviour. Thanks Vellvette for this cream.
This isn’t a very nice picture…my hair was flying all over because of the wind but you can see that there is absolutely no dryness, flakiness or peeling of my skin. Also, I am not wearing any foundation here so you can see all my pimple marks too 🙁
Have you used any of these products? What do you use to keep your skin looking lovely in winter? Oh, and what do you think of my new blog banner?
