L’Oréal Paris Lucent Magique Blush Sunset Glow – Review and FOTD

I love watching sunsets. The myriad shades of pink, orange and coral in the sky and the diffused lighting from the setting sun create a truly magical glow and makes everyone look radiant. L’Oréal’s new range of blushes, the Lucent Magique, consisting of three gorgeous hues that merge with the original skin tone, attempt to mimic that naturally glamourous glow, minus the setting sun. Know more about this beautiful peach blush from L’Oreal….

About Lucent Magique

“L’Oréal Paris Lucent Magique boosts your skin’s luster and adds a luminous sheen. The soft texture and feathery touch of the Lucent Magique blush is ideal to get sun-kissed skin. It contains reflective pigments and fine shimmer particles that capture the light to sculpt a perfect glow.”

Packaging

L'Oreal Lucent Magique Blush in Sunset Glow - packaging
The minute you slide the blush from the outer carton, the gorgeous rose-gold case leaves you spell-bound. Highly reflective and subtly elegant, the packaging looks absolutely luxe. Of course, you have to take good care of it since it can get easily scratched and is a finger print magnet.

The blush comes with an angular brush and a really nice-sized mirror.

Colour and Texture

L'Oreal Lucent Magique Blush in Sunset Glow
This blush actually is a palette of three shades that can be used individually (quite a tough task though, even if you use the angular brush provided) or swirled together. Sunset Glow is a peachy-coral palette. The top-most shade is a light peach highlighter, then comes a medium peach and finally, a coral. The blush has very fine gold micro-shimmer that is difficult to capture on camera. Because it is so fine, the micro-shimmer adds a glow to the face rather than highlighting the pores.
The texture is really soft too and while that’s good because the blush goes on smoothly on the cheeks, it does mess up the case with powder particles.
Other shades in this range are: Blushing Kiss, Fuchsia Flush, Paradise Coral and Rubis Lumiere.

Swatch

L'Oreal Lucent Magique Sunset Glow swatches
It was difficult to pick up the colour with the finger for swatching and I had to swipe multiple times to get the colour to show on my forearm. This made me feel that the blush isn’t very pigmented but I was wrong because it shows up beautifully on the cheeks. The swatches also make the colour look a bit chalky, which it isn’t.

Please excuse the makeup. I did it in a real hurry and didn’t bother with the concealer. Focus on the blush, alright? See how soft and radiant it looks? The colour too, looks like a natural flush rather than makeup. It looks a bit brighter in real as compared to the picture but nothing too obvious. There’s no chunky, glittery shimmer that emphasises the pores, instead there’s a glow. I’ll wear this blush in daylight too and see how the shimmer fares but so far, “I’m lovin it”.

Lasting Power

In Bombay’s heat and humidity, this blush lasted on my combination skin for about 3 hours after which the colour faded a bit, but the faint shimmer was still there. On oily skin, it would last for about a couple of hours. Lucent Magique is idea for those with dry skin.

Price

At ₹850 for 4.5g, this blush might seem expensive, but the packaging is totally worth it. The product is really nice too.

With the festive and wedding season here, a blush such as this, with micro-shimmer that adds a radiant, glowy flush, is a must-have! I wish it lasted a bit longer, but hey, it’s slim enough to slip into  clutch and luxe enough to make you want to remove it for touch-ups (and it has a mirror). Seriously, I’m not being biased here, do check out Lucent Magique in the store and you’ll know why I’m recommending it.
