Fuss-Free Hair Styles After My #HairIsFashion Makeover At The Lakme Absolute Salon

Last month, I had a wonderful hair makeover at the Lakme Absolute Salon in Bandra  with a personalised version of a style from their Show Stopping Hair Collection (read the post here). I got a lovely hair cut and some really subtle highlights. Usually, the hair looks fabulous for a couple of days after the cut but in my case, my hair still looks good, a month after the cut, even without styling! Don’t believe me? I love, love, love straight hair and whenever I have the time, I bring out my hair iron and quickly straighten my hair. For some reason, I find it easier and quicker to iron my hair than to blow dry it. I leave the blow drying to the salon. If I feel that my hair is looking too flat, I use a bit of TiGi Totally Baked mousse to add a bit of volume at the roots.

When my bangs start looking a bit kinky or if I’m having a bad hair day, I opt for a little pouf. It looks great with straight hair as well as my crazy unstyled hair as well.

To be very honest, this is how I “style” my hair on most days. It’s just wash and go in my rush-rush routine. Which is why a good cut is so important because it gives bounce and movement to the hair. A good stylist will always suggest you a cut keeping the natural texture of your hair in mind so that even if you don’t style it, it still looks ok.

What I usually do is apply a few drops of Kerastase Elixir Ultime to my towel-dried hair and loosely plait it while I go about my chores. When I finally open up my hair, I get nice waves with less frizz than I get had I left my hair open. This is my “No Heat Styling” style.
