I have always loved to seek out and try new beauty brands. And if the brand has luxe packaging, highly effective ingredients and beautiful story lines for each product, then it gets even more difficult to resist. Rouge Bunny Rouge is one beauty brand that has intrigued me since quite a while and that has been on my lust list. About Rouge Bunny Rouge

“At Rouge Bunny Rouge we believe everyday is worthy of a soupcon of whimsy. As if the book of the Enchanted Garden lies open in our hands, we tell its enduring tales through powders that whisper over skin, unguents that caress and cajole and mesmeric vapours that seduce the senses. With indulgent textures tied with wistful tones, each fragment is created to enhance natural beauty, allowing you to become the protagonist in your own mysterious tale.”

Rouge Bunny Rouge Makeup Review
L-R: For Love Of Roses blush, Amplitude mascara, Felline Gaze eye kohl, Devotion Ink quartz eyeliner, Swell Bliss lip plump, Succulence of Dew sheer lipstick. All swatches at the end of the post.

All the Rouge Bunny Rouge products come in elegant, glossy black packaging with butterflies, flowers and bunny ears embellishing them. It is very difficult to capture the true beauty of the packaging in the photographs but when you hold the product in your hands, you feel like you’re not just holding makeup, you’re holding a work of art!

Rouge Bunny Rouge Succulence Of Dew Sheer Lipstick

Rouge Bunny Rouge Makeup Review

The Succulence of Dew (€28 – approx. ₹2090)  sheer lipstick has got to be one of the most comfortable lipsticks I have ever worn that feels hydrating on my dry lips and weightless at the same time. This range of lipsticks has been inspired by “translucently delicate butterflies from the Enchanted Garden. Their finesse is captured and cradled here for you in a sensuously sheer lipstick which acts with the power of a gloss.”

This shade – Jasmine Scented Air – which is described on their website as “Wet effect, medium transperency, true purplish red fuchsia” is a beautiful bright pink that would look good on all skintones. In terms of colour payoff, shade and weightlessness, it is comparable to another favourite lipstick of mine, the Bobbi Brown Sheer Lip Color in Hot Raspberry. Besides being infuse with Rosehip butter, the Succulence of Dew lipsticks also have the moisturising and anti-aging powers of Sodium Hyaluronate which keep the lips hydrated and plumped. A boon for thin-lipped girls like me.

Rouge Bunny Rouge Swell Bliss Lip Plump

Rouge Bunny Rouge Makeup Review

The Swell Bliss Lip Plump (€29 – approx. ₹2165) is a shiny gloss with a faint minty smell and a slight tingle. It feels very comfortable unlike the stinging, burning sensation you get with certain lip plumpers. Not surprisingly, the inspiration behind this lip plumper are the bees in the Enchanted Garden. Bee-stung lips anyone? With plant extracts, jojoba wax, olive oil extracts, vitamin E and natural peptides, this lip gloss stimulates the synthesis of hyaluronic acid this increasing the lip volume! Nature meets sci-fi.

This shade – Heather Royal Jelly – is described as “Nude rose-beige with subtle four colour pearls for microshimmer”. Pretty description, it however looks milky beige on my pigmented lips. So I can’t wear this by itself but have to layer it over other lipsticks. When layered, however, the true beauty of the micro-shimmers comes through and instantly transforms the lipstick I’m wearing into a more glamorous avatar while also plumping up my lips. I love the fact that it is non-sticky so there’s no fear of hair sticking to the lips and then causing streaks on the cheeks.

Rouge Bunny Rouge Devotion Ink Quartz Eyeliner

Rouge Bunny Rouge Makeup Review

I must have taken dozens and dozens of pictures of the Devotion Ink Quartz Eyeliner (€28 – approx ₹2,090) in an attempt to capture the true colours and the beauty of this utterly GORGEOUS eyeliner but none of the pictures could do justice to it. If you think glitter eyeliner is just for teens, think again because this is one of the most elegantly glamorous eyeliners I have seen. Though it is water based, it has a really long wear time, doesn’t smudge or streak and, most importantly, doesn’t irritate the eyes as some glitter eyeliners do. The pointy, precise tip of the brush that comes with it makes application super quick and easy, whether you want a thin line or a thick one.

This shade – Tiger Eye Essence – is described on the website as “Dilute black ink base, lavished with 24 carat gold and polished copper, for an overall bursting with glitter, black-bronze holographic effect.” Yes, it is exacty as beautiful as it’s description. Perhaps even more so.

Rouge Bunny Rouge Feline Gaze Eye Kohl

Rouge Bunny Rouge Makeup Review

The Feline Gaze Eye Kohl (€25 – approx ₹1,865) is a creamy, smooth eyepencil that glides on without tugging, is richly pigmented, waterproof and very long lasting. It doesn’t irritate the eyes or cause them to water even when worn on the waterline. While the price is a bit high for what is essentially an eye pencil, it does have some beautiful and unique shades.

The shade Lilith is a timeless grey with a matte finish. I have been wearing it almost everyday when I don’t want the stark black look of kohl and yet want to look “awake”. Delilah and Vera are two shades that I have been lusting after. They seem very unique and would look great on our Indian skintones.

Rouge Bunny Rouge Amplitude Mascara

Rouge Bunny Rouge Makeup Review

As you probably know by now, I am not much of a mascara user. The Amplitude Big Lash Mascara (€29 – approx ₹2,165) can convert even a mascara non-user into an ardent fan. Not only does it give more volume to my lashes, it also gives them a nice curl and makes them look naturally full and thick. It doesn’t clump or give me spidery lashes and is gentle on the lashes so that when I do cleanse off the mascara, I don’t have lashes falling off.

The shade Pure Obsidian is a jet black that gives oomph and volume to the lashes.

Rouge Bunny Rouge For Love Of Roses Original Skin Blush

Rouge Bunny Rouge Makeup Review

Did I mention that the packaging of the Rouge Bunny Rouge products is a work of art? Well, not just that, even this blush is an oeuvre d’art with the pretty flowers embossed on the blush. I didn’t have the heart to start using this blush as I didn’t want to spoil it. One of the bestselling products of Rouge Bunny Rouge, the For Love of Roses Original Skin Blush (€31 – approx. ₹2,310) have a silky smooth texture and literally feel like they are caressing your cheeks with a weightless veil of colour. Enriched with active ingredients like Indian Gooseberry (Amla) extract and Velvet-leaf extract combined with modern technologies, these blushes give a “naturally luminous silky glow.”

The shade Orpheline is a “medium warm strawberry with an illuminating radiance.” It has medium pigmentation and can be used lightly for a natural-looking flush of colour or built up for more intensity.

Swatches

Rouge Bunny Rouge Makeup Review
L-R: Succulence of Dew lipstick in Jasmine Weighted Air, Swell Bliss Lip Plump in Heather Royal Jelly, Original Skin Blush in Orpheline, Devotion Ink eyeliner in Tiger Eye Essence and Feline Gaze Eye Kohl in Lilith.

The only picture I have of me wearing all these products is one that I clicked really really late at night, after wearing these products for close to 5 hours…..

Rouge Bunny Rouge Makeup review

I wasn’t wearing the Lip Plump in this picture and I had layered the Succulence of Dew lipstick over a dark, gothic berry shade lipstick which is why it is looking so dark here. I’m wearing the Quartz eyeliner on the upper lash line and the Feline Gaze grey eye kohl on the lower lash line and water line. I will take more pictures wearing these products so that you can see them better.

My Views

I think this post makes it quite clear that I am in love with Rouge Bunny Rouge and it’s delightful products, packaged as they are as little, portable works of art. I love how they combine natural ingredients with modern science to make their products, including makeup, so skin-friendly. Rouge Bunny Rouge is a high-end brand and is priced at par with other high end brands. Elegant and luxe, all these products are worth the price, especially because of the packaging. Each time I go through the website, I lust after more and more products; especially their fragrances and Fire Drops – the loose glitter pigments.

You can order the Rouge Bunny Rouge products from their website which ships worldwide. Readers of my blog can also get a 20% discount with the code RBR-INDIANSHRINGAR20 🙂
