Mudmasky Facial Detox Purifying Recovery Mask – a pH Balanced Face Mask

About Mudmasky Facial Detox Purifying Recovery Mask

“The Facial Detox Purifying Recovery Mask helps you to achieve the perfect pH for your facial skin. It helps to maintain the protective layer, which is known as the acid mantle, by getting rid of all the toxins, germ and bacteria and at the same time preserving the skins natural moisture. By “resetting” the pH value close to 5.5, the risk of (new) infection is getting reduced by over 92%.

Where most facial masks have 1 or 2 tasks, the Facial Detox Purifying Recovery Mask has five important tasks:

Pore Refining – French Green Clay combined with Gray Wyoming Clay is being used to purify and deep-clean by drawing out and absorbing impurities. Cucumis Sativus adjust to the pH-level of your skin, while the Camellia Sinensis Leaf prevents excessive bacterial growth and oil on the skin.

Hydrating – Moroccan Lava Clay helps in the treatment of dehydrated, sensitive skin. Betaine also hydrates the skin and adjusts the skin pH.

Anti-Aging – Bambusa Arundinacea Stem Extract slows the degeneration of the skin by helping the various skin constituents like elastin and collagen remain vital and able to retain moisture. The Natural Vitamine E – D-Alpha-Tocopheryl Acetate – provides protection against free radicals.

Brightening – The Citrus Acid of the Calamondin fuit removes dead skin cells, allowing new cells to grow. It allows the deeper layer of the skin to come to surface faster and speeds up the cycle of skin turnover, which has a natural brightening effect on the skin.

Smoothing – Allantoin helps to moisturize and soften skin and allows skin to hold onto water better.”

Mudmasky pH Balanced Face mask Review

This is the first time that I have tried out a mask that is pH-balanced. To be honest, I was quite sceptical about all it’s claims and decided to take them with a pinch of salt. However, from the first use itself, I was impressed. My skin looked brighter, the pores seemed less noticeable, the texture was much smoother, softer and it even helped in calming the couple of PMS breakouts I had on my face at the time! Of course, the breakouts didn’t disappear completely, but the mask calmed down the redness and (I believe) helped the acne heal faster.

I have been using this mask twice a week and after each use, I love how my skin looks and feels. It actually looks fresh and bright – quite unlike the sleep deprived person I am.  Because the texture becomes smooth, my makeup too, applies better and I find myself applying a very sheer layer of foundation – just enough to even out the skintone. The fine lines around my mouth too, appear diminished and I find myself wishing that I could use this mask around my eyes to help reduce the fine lines there. Obviously, I can’t. No mud mask can be used around the eyes.

Though this is a clay mask, it doesn’t dry out my skin like other clay masks do. Of course, I need to apply a moisturiser after rinsing it off but there is no tightness or stretchy feeling. The first time that I applied the Mudmasky, I did experience a little bit of tingling which is to be expected. It was very mild and subsided pretty soon. After that, I haven’t experienced the tingling sensation at all.

The Mudmasky Facial Detox Purifying Recovery Mask is a dark greenish- grey in colour and dries to a light grey. It also has tiny flakes in it that don’t feel gritty or abrasive but do help in exfoliation when rinsing it off. The mask dries pretty quickly and by the time 9 minutes are up (the recommended time for normal skin), it is completely dry.

Ingredients

Aqua, Montmorillonite, Bentonite, Moroccan Lava Clay, Camellia Sinensis, Polysorbate 20, Maris Sal, Betaine, Bambusa Arundinacea Stem Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Propylene Glycol, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Xanthan Gum, Citric Acid, Allantoin, Ethylhexylglycerin, Hypoallergenic Parfum, D-Alpha-Tocopheryl Acetate, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Phenethyl Alcohol, Caprylyl Glycol, Cucumis Sativus Fruit Extract, Arnica Montana Flower Extract, Hedera Helix Extract, Malva Sylvestris Flower Extract, Parietaria Officinalis (Pellitory) Extract, Sambucus Nigra Extract

The ingredient list is very impressive – as much as the mask’s performance! You can check out more details on the ingredients  on their website here. The Mudmasky Facial Detox Purifying Recovery Mask doesn’t have any parabens or mineral oil or sulfates and other nasties. I really like products like face masks to be packaged in tubes since it’s the best way to maintain product hygiene. The Mudmasky tube has  been specially designed and has an EVOH barrier (a kind of special film that acts as an oxygen barrier) to keep the antioxidants stable after opening.

Price

The only thing that I didn’t like about the Mudmasky mask is the price. The 60ml tube costs a whopping €69 approximately ₹5163! (Thankfully they have free worldwide shipping.) On the brighter side (and I’m not referring to just the bright skin here), they source very good quality ingredients from around the world for the mask. Besides, you only have to apply a thin layer per application so the mask would definitely last you for around 12-15 applications at least. And that’s not all, Mudmasky is so sure that you will love this face mask that they also have a 30-day money-back guarantee! Now who would do that?

My Views

My skin and I really, really LOVE the Mudmasky Facial Detox Purifying Recovery Mask. It makes my skin look so bright and clean, and so smooth to the touch. Yes, it is an expensive face mask but for the kind of ingredients and the effects it shows on the skin, it is well worth a buy.

  1. This mask sounds wonderful! I enjoy using masks.

  2. I have bought this Mask a while ago and I love it so much! The only product that balances my skin. Too bad that it’s very expensive. Here in the UK it’s £ 59,-. But still, I will purchase it again.

    1. Hi Amanda. I agree with you – it is very expensive. But now that my skin is addicted to it, I will repurchase it 🙂
