Night Time Anti-Aging Skincare Routine for Dehydrated, Sensitive Skin

night time anti-aging skincare routine for dehydrated sensitive skin

After the morning skincare routine post (read it here if you haven’t already) it is time now for the night-time routine. By now you might already be aware of my love for Korean skincare products and my night time skincare routine bears testimony to that. So let me quickly show you my night time anti-aging skincare routine for dehydrated, sensitive skin.

As with the morning routine post, this post is NOT SPONSORED either. I have bought all these products and have been using them all which is why I am recommending them.

Cleanser

The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Butter

This is my ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE cleansing butter / balm. I prefer this to the Chamomile cleansing oil and any other cleansing balms that I have tried. A little goes a long way and this is all you need to get your face rid of all makeup – even long-wearing, waterproof makeup. This even removes mascara, eyeliner and glitter eye shadows so well without irritating the eyes. At least, it doesn’t irritate my eyes though the oil does. It is so effective at removing makeup that I do not need to use a separate eye makeup remover nor do I need to do a second cleanse! And it’s because it is so good that it’s nearly always out of stock!

I also love the fact that it comes in a very travel friendly  90ml tin – just what you need to carry with you for destination weddings where you’re sure to be applying loads of makeup! I just wish it came in a smaller size to fit into a small handbag for weekend trips.

Toner

By Wishtrend Mandelic Acid 5% Skin Prep Water

Price $ 22 (Approx Rs. 1500). Available here.

I have already mentioned why I love this toner in the post on morning skincare so I won’t repeat all the details here. However, I forgot to mention that when I use this toner in the morning, I take a few drops onto the palm of my hand and pat it gently all over the face and neck. However, when I use it at night, I take some on a cotton pad and swipe it on the face and neck so that it can get rid of any makeup residue (there isn’t any usually though).

Essence

Klairs Midnight Blue Youth Activating Drops

Price $30 (approx Rs. 2,100). Available here.

While this is technically a serum, I choose to call it an essence because of it’s watery texture. You simply can’t take it on your finger tips and apply – it is that watery. You have to put a few drops directly onto your face and neck (never neglect the neck since that is the first to show signs of aging) and then pat it in. This essence is vegan and free from parabens, ethanol, steroids and other nasties. It is rich in peptides, adenosine and blueberry extract, all of which help reduce wrinkles and other signs of aging.

Serum

Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop

Price Rs. 1,570. Available here.

The Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop is a highly concentrated – and stabilised (hence the transparent bottle) – form of pure Vitamin C and that, as we all know, is great for brightening the skin and improving it’s tone and texture. While this one feels a bit warm on applying, there is no tingling like the kind I had experienced with the OST 21.5 Vitamin C. However, this one is also slightly thicker in texture and a bit stickier too. Again this one is vegan, free from ethanol, parabens, silicone, steroids, artificial fragrance and colour.

While this does help my skin look a bit radiant, it hasn’t really helped lighten the spots and freckle marks. I’ve been using this since over a month and hopefully I’ll see a difference after one more month of usage.

Moisturiser

By Wishtrend Vitamin 75 Maximising Cream

Price $28 (approx Rs. 2000). Available here.

Just like the vitamin C serum, this one too is free from all those above-mentioned nasties. This is a super-hydrating moisturiser that consists of 75% Vitamin Tree Water (Hippophae Rhamnoides). It also helps increase the absorption of Vitamin C & E when layered over products that contain those ingredients such as the serum mentioned above. Because it is so hydrating, it makes the skin supple and more elastic and thus reduces the signs of aging such as fine lines and lacklustre skin.

I apply this moisturiser on weekdays and on weekends, I apply a sleeping mask for some extra skin pampering.

I find such a skincare routine at night very relaxing and therapeutic. I light some aroma candles, have some nice music going in the background or just chat with my husband about the day while I massage the serums and creams into my skin – very calming and soothing.

Blogging isn’t easy – it takes a lot of time and energy to click pictures and to write a single blog post. And yet I find it very satisfying, especially if you comment and tell me that my posts have helped you. It makes me feel like it is worth all the effort. I do hope you find these posts useful. Please let me know what other posts / videos you’d like me to do. I am already planning one on my favourite face masks / sleeping masks and would love your suggestions.
