A relative: “Wow, your skin is glowing, good news hai?”
Me: ” No way aunty, do bus hai. This glow is just makeup”.
A couple of weeks later at a dinner with friends:
Friend: “Dollie what have you applied? You have such a lovely radiant glow.”
Me: “Clinique blush. Nice colour na?”
Friend: “I can’t see any obvious blush colour. Your cheeks just look radiant”
On both these occasions, I was wearing Clinique Blushwear Cream Stick in 01Glow Blush. This had come as part of a GWP when my mom had got me the Clinique Blended Powder from USA. It is time for me to say bye to it coz I think it has now reached its expiry date so I thought I’ll just write an ode to this little beauty before I chuck it and buy the full sized one.
What Clinique says about it:
Isn’t it such a wonderful feeling when you find a product that lives up to its claims! (And even more so when you haven’t gone searching for the product but it has come to you as a freebie). This blush certainly is what it claims to be.
Packaging:
Dressed in a sleek, silver twist-up tube, this blush looks as good on the outside as it does from the inside. The metal packaging is also perfect for travelling when you don’t want to carry tons of products coz this blush can be easily worn as an eyeshadow too.
Texture:
A nice creamy texture that feels very light, almost weightless and is super easy to blend. Sounds too good to be true? Oh, but it is true. The blush feels feather light on the skin, blends really well and lasted on me for about 4-5 hours. I don’t know if it lasts longer coz I dont generally wear makeup all day. When I was removing my makeup, the blush was still there and had faded just very slightly. Also, it didnt break me out. It is ideal for drier skin types but since it gives a powder finish, it works even for combination to oily skins too. (The dinner with friends I mentioned was in the monsoons when my skin is on the oiler side).
No, I haven’t taken a bite out of it. I scraped my nail against it by mistake. |
Colour: 01 Glow Blush is a light shimmery nude-bronze which, when blended, gives quite a sheer radiant glow on the cheeks. The colour can be built up easily without it looking patchy or streaky. The shimmers though, are micro shimmers and once applied on the face and blended, you really can’t detect them, at least not on my skin tone. On very fair skin tones, this would look more bronze but on my NC37-42 skin tone, it just looks perfectly, naturally radiant. I think it would look lovely on even duskier skin tones as a highlighter or even as a blush if you build up the intensity a bit.
I really love this colour and I’m going to get the full size in this as well as either Shy Blush or Rosy Blush. I’m surprised that Clinique hasn’t been marketing such a wonderful product more aggressively in India. If you’re on the look out for a cream blush, I strongly recommend that you check the Clinique Blushwear Cream Sticks. I don’t know the price but I’m going to Clinique on Saturday to buy it so I’ll tweet the price if you like.
Would love to see a FOTD with this when you buy the full size version – love your blog!
wow! never heard of this product but the way you’ve praised it and the way youve been receiving compliments is compelling me to buy one ..hehehe
You’ll have to pick it up from abroad or ask someone to get it for u coz unfortunately it isn’t available in India 🙁 I had called up Clinique in Palladium to ask.
wow.. it looks really pretty and shimmery.
Nice review and the little story was interesting too. 🙂

This one is super easy to use and blend.
Very pretty packaging. You certainly know to pick out the gems, Dollie 🙂
Blush often makes me look like a clown, so I stick to bronzers 🙁
Haha…Renu, in this case I didn’t chose the product, the product chose me 😉
And a well blended blush will look lovely on u..try a muted, natural colour. Or try this clinique cream blush in Shy Blush.

I would have done an FOTD but I think its expired now.
