My Top Picks For Christmas + Vacation + Wedding From Flipkart.

On one of those rare occasions when I was watching TV, I saw an ad that I felt was made for me (millions of other girls must have surely felt the same on seeing it). The ad mentioned “closet full of nothing” and “when you have everything but still nothing to wear”. Don’t we all feel exactly the same? Intrigued, I waited till the end to see which brand had come up with this fabulous ad and then I saw it….it was Flipkart.com‘s commercial for their newly launched Women’s Store. Those of you who haven’t yet seen it, here is Flipkart’s advertisement…

The shopaholic that I am, I immediately opened the Flipkart website on my android and saw that they have an app for android phones too. I downloaded it and started browsing and I was zapped to see that they stock more than 500 brands! I had only bought books from their website earlier (I was impressed with their discounts as well as their quick delivery time) and never paid much attention to their other product catagories. And the women’s lifestyle section is fabulous! DKNY, Steve Madden, Ritu Kumar Label, AND…they have some of my favourite brands. Sitting at home, I was “window shopping” to my heart’s content till 2am. No, hubby didn’t complain as he was travelling 😉

This vacation, I’m travelling, plus it’s Christmas and I have a wedding to attend once I’m back so here are my top picks for each occasion, all sourced from Flipkart.

Travel

When travelling in winter to a place that’s chilly but not snowy, I like winter wear that keeps me snug and warm but isn’t bulky. These three look smart yet casual and have a very different style from each other. Also, being neutrals, I would be able to pair them with almost all my clothes.

Christmas Eve

I’m not too fond of bling unless it is in Indian outfits for weddings etc. So, even for Christmas eve, I would select clothes that are chic and stylish and not very blingy. There are 1486 dresses on Flipkart and you have options for all occasions, from parties, to brunch to casual resort wear.

Weddings

When I saw ethnic wear under Women’s Clothing section, I thought it would be just the normal kurtis and leggings etc. Curiosity made me click on a link I normally wouldn’t and imagine my surprise when I saw exquisite lehngas, saris and anarkalis there. An absolutely huge selection here too, these are my pics for a close friend’s/relative’s wedding. Somehow, I liked ones which are relatively less blingy than what one would normally wear for weddings. All these three are from Kalki and are at a whopping 46% discount! The prices mentioned below are after discount.

Though I don’t need any more makeup, I couldn’t help browse through their beauty and personal care section. They have 3451 products under Fragrances, 1834 under Makeup and 3032 under Body and Skin Care. Not to mention Bath and Spa, Men’s Grooming, Beauty Appliances….whew. One of these days, I’m going to run wild with my credit card here. And did I mention that they have Bobbi Brown, Victoria’s Secret and Chanel too??? I guess I would have to do a separate post for that.

While browsing through Flipkart, I felt like a kid in a candy store. Shoes, sunglasses, handbags, accessories…their women’s store covers everything! Have you shopped from Flipkart before (besides books I mean)? What do you feel about their women’s store?
