It is so disappointing when you go to the store for the third time but the lipstick you’re lusting after is still out of stock. What do you do then? You swatch it yet again to admire the pretty colour and then, seeing that Inglot has finally opened a store in South Bombay, head over there to have a good browse. The lip paint pots look so pretty and one colour in particular, appeals to you more than the others. So you swatch it next to the “lipstick-you’re-lusting-after” swatch and hey, they’re almost identical!!! It’s a no-brainer. Obviously, you’d buy it. Like I did…..
What Inglot Says
“Vitamin E and Inglot’s smoothing and repairing complex smooths, moisturises and repairs the lips while bio-mimetic peptide stimulates collagen synthesis giving a 3D, ultra-shiny, gloss effect.”
Well, it certainly does smooth and moisturise the lips though I can’t say anything about the “stimulating collagen” part. And yes, the effect is ultra-shiny and glossy and beautiful.

The colour looks slightly brighter in this picture because the sun suddenly peeked out from behind the clouds. |
The Inglot AMC Lip Paint 65 comes in a cute little glass jar reminiscent of the Maybelline Gel Liners. Despite being made of glass, it is quite sturdy and has survived after having slipped from my hands twice. I wish it came with a retractable lip brush though so you could tote around both in the makeup bag for touchups. Or they could have packaged it in a regular lipstick bullet. It would have made application much easier.
Texture and Colour
Initially, when I saw the little pots of lip paint, I thought they were probably lip balms. The “Paint” in the name could be because they were glossy. But when I swatched it, I realised that the “Paint” was for the paint-like texture. Thick, almost syrupy, and pigmented, when you apply it, it’s like putting paint on your lips. The lip paint has a pleasant, mild fruity fragrance which doesn’t last long.
The colour is a beautiful mid-tone warm rose that would look good on most skintones. The colour itself is not bright but it certainly brightens up my face when I wear it. It gives a glossy finish but doesn’t feel sticky and definitely makes my lips feel softer and hydrated. I don’t need to wear a lip balm under this and neither does it cause my lips to feel dry and flaky when it wears off.
It lasted for three hours on my lips, after which I had dinner. The lip paint didn’t survive the cheesy nachos, pasta and sizzler but then, I guess with the exception of MAC Ruby Woo, nothing would survive a meal like that.

Dupe Of???
Ok. I know you’re wondering which lipstick is this lip paint a dupe of. Take a look….

Took the lower lipstick picture off the internet which is why it’s a bit blurry. |
Can you guess which lipstick this is?

It’s the Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Lipstick in Rebellious Rose! Isn’t it an almost identical dupe? I wanted to put a picture of both the swatches but I haven’t had a chance to go back to the mall.
Yes, the Inglot AMC Lip Paint won’t last as long as Rebellious Rose and doesn’t come in a luxe navy and gold packaging but then it is priced at Rs. 720 while the Estee Lauder one is priced at Rs. 2300 (yes, prices have gone up. I checked last week). Of course this in no way means that I will not be buying the Pure Color Envy lipsticks. Now my eyes are set on Insolent Plum, which is a deep purple berry colour that would be wonderful for Autumn/Winter. I haven’t work such deep, dark, vampy colours before so I don’t know if I can carry it off but I’ll try it at the store for sure.
And This Is How It Looks On Me
Yes, I’m wearing the
Inglot AMC Lip Paint 65 (wish they would name the lipsticks and eye shadows rather than just number them) in this picture that you also saw in my
Khoobsurat Moment post. I love how smooth and glossy and pigmented it is. It is truly a gorgeous, gorgeous colour and my new favourite lipstick. That it’s a dupe for
Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Rebellious Rose is an added bonus.
What do you think of this Lip Paint? Have you tried the Inglot Lip Paints or other Inglot lipsticks?
Thank you so much Dollie. I will make sure to stop by often.

nice shade dear, looks gr8 on you
Thank you Maria.
Must say I’m so glad I found your blog. You have a wonderful, and enviable makeup collection and lovely pictures 🙂
Hello Dollie,
You look stunning in Lip Paint 65. I don’t think Rebellious Rose looks as smooth as the Inglot color. However, I must say, Insolent Plum would look beautiful against your skin tone. I’m so glad you love your dupe. The very best to you.
