Scholl Velvet Smooth Express Pedi Review – Does It Love Your Feet?

Our feet are probably the most neglected parts of our body. They bear our weight the whole day, get squeezed into fancy shoes, are at an unnatural angle all the time due to heels. Aching feet, callouses, dry, scaly skin leading up to cracks in the heels; all these are the many feet issues we all face and the only solution is to go for regular pedicures. But with busy schedules, who has the time to squeeze in an hour long pedi session? Well, this Valentine’s Day,  how about showing some love to this very important, and very neglected part of our body with this new wonder product from Scholl, the Velvet Smooth Express Pedi?

Scholl Velvet Smooth Express Pedi Review Based On My Personal Experience

Scholl, a market leader in innovative foot care products, recently launched a new product to help busy women (and men) have smooth, soft feet, at their convenience, in the privacy of their home or even, car. The Scholl Velvet Smooth Express Pedi is an electronic foot file that is gentle and effective.

What Scholl Says

“Get feet that look great and feel super smooth without any hassles. Velvet Smooth buffs away hard skin in minutes leaving you with fabulous feet that you’ll want to show off. It’s so easy to use. Gently rotate the file over hard skin and see the dead skin disappear. Once your feet are smooth and soft again, breathe a sigh of relief.

  • Ergonomically shaped soft-touch handle.
  • Specially designed Micralumina Replaceable Head.
  • Gentle and effective rotating action.
  • Battery Operated.
  • Ready to use.”

Packaging

Scholl Velvet Smooth Express Pedi - review and how to use

The Velvet Smooth Express Pedi is a hand-held, battery-operated device to buff away all the dead skin cells that get built up on the feet. It comes packaged in a plastic pack, the kind of packaging I personally, find a pain to open. Really thick plastic, stuck together so tight that even a strong scissor struggles to cut through it. Once open, you have the device itself, the paper insert with product details and instructions, and a plastic cover to keep the roller head secure.

The Device

As you can see, the Velvet Smooth Express Pedi has a simple, neat, fuss-free look. At the base of the handle is a screw-on cap which houses four AA batteries that are required to run the device. The silver band between the handle and the head is the switch. Operation is simple, all you need to do is rotate the band from the “0” to the “|” and the roller-head starts rotating. Turn it back to “0” and it get’s switched off. Tres facile! On one side of the device head is a blue button that needs to be pushed up when you want to change the roller-head.

Efficacy

Let the pictures speak for themselves. Can you see the dead skin on the feet in the first pic? See how dark and shiny the unused roller-head is. Now see the smooth skin in the second pic and the white flakes on the roller-head as well as the plastic. The rough roller-head gently removes all the dead, flaky skin with a rotating action to give you smooth, soft feet. Depending on the amount of dead skin cells built up on your feet, it would take you from one to 3-4 sessions to have the desired results. You will see some white powder on your feet, just wipe them and apply a good foot cream to keep the feet soft and moisturised.

However, no matter how thick and calloused your feet, you have to glide the roller very gently. If you press too hard, then the device will stop. Also, it is meant for use on dry skin only so you can soak your feet in warm water for a few minutes to soften the skin, but then dry them thoroughly before using the Velvet Smooth.

After usage, the roller-head can be wiped with a cloth or rinsed with water to keep it clean. Then just dab it dry with a cloth, put the cover on and stash it for your next use.

Price

Now, a device that is going to help you save big bucks on pedicures (besides your time) isn’t going to come for cheap. The Scholl Velvet Smooth Express Pedi is priced at ₹2,850 but considering that pedicures on an average cost between ₹600-1000, the device is truly good value for money. The Velvet Smooth Express Pedi is available on  Amazon so you can order it from the comfort of your home.
