Okay, the person who created that image was probably referring to one’s inner sparkle and joie de vivre and not actual sparkle per se. But certain occassions demand that you leave the matte behind and bring out the shimmer, glitter and sparkle. That brings me to the product I’m reviewing today; The Body Shop Sparkler in Golden Glimmer.
I was going to post this review before New Year’s Eve but with hubby getting a fracture during our holiday and the technical issues I had with the blog’s servers, I simply couldn’t. Better late than never, and what better time than Valentine’s Day to talk about a product that helps you sparkle and shimmer and yet not look like a disco ball. I’m talking about …….
About The Body Shop Sparkler Golden Glimmer
“Add a touch of shimmer to the party season with our Sparklers with a special edition 1920s look. These glittering mists are the perfect way to polish off a festive look. Can be used on the body and the hair.”
The Sparkler from The Body Shop comes in a pretty, classic vintage-looking glass bottle with a black atomiser. The bottle would look lovely on the dresser and I love the packaging. This is a limited edition product and the packaging changes each year.
The shimmer powder housed in this pretty bottle is very finely milled, light-weight shimmer powder. This is a very versatile product and can be used on the face, body or even hair. And yes, it is SHIMMER, not GLITTER, thankfully so you have shimmer particles that are micro-fine and don’t feel chunky or gritty at all!
Since it is a powder and not a cream shimmer, the Sparkler needs some something to cling to in order to stay longer. On dry skin, the shimmer lasts for a couple of hours. On well moisturised skin (I prefer to use The Body Shop’s Polynasian Monoi Radiance Oil) the shimmer clings on longer. When you spray it, the shimmer comes out as a fine mist so it will get onto other surfaces as well – mobile phones and watches for instance – so keep those away while using this. It also has a very mild but very yummy smelling vanilla fragrance that I love.
Priced at ₹2,295 for 10g, this is a bit expensive but seeing that you don’t need much, this bottle would last quite a while! And don’t think The Sparkler is meant only for the festive season. You can also use it during summer on your beach holiday for a bronzed goddess look!
