It’s a small world and thanks to the internet, it is shrinking each day. People across the world, no matter what ethnicity and culture, are inspired by global trends in makeup and hair and seek to express their personality in their own unique manner that reflects their heritage as well as the global inspiration. Keeping this in mind, Wella Professionals, a brand that has always been at the forefront of developing professional-quality products that help individuals get salon-like results at home, has launched the new EIMI Range (pronounced I, Me) of hair care and hair styling products. A range consisting of a whopping 31 products, each smelling amazing, there is something here for all hair needs.
Wella Professionals EIMI Range
About EIMI
“Express your styling skills and individuality. With EIMI you can truly be yourself, say what you say and shout it out: interpreting the latest global trends, setting new accents of style and originality. EIMI moulds and empowers, shapes and inspires. In a word: Individuality.”
Here are three products from the EIMI range that I have been trying out; Dry Me – a dry shampoo, Root Shoot – a volumiser and Perfect Me – a BB lotion for hair – and my thoughts on each of these. Each of these products has a delightful fragrance that can be described as “airy transparent, floral base notes contrasted with a clean, luxurious ambery heart and complemented with exquisite marine top notes“. Trust me, they smell so delightful that I feel tempted to keep smelling my hair!
EIMI Dry Me ( ₹900)
“Create head-turning volume and manageable matte texture for any individual style. Absorb oil and refresh the hair with Dry Me’s outstanding tapioca starch formula that enhances a “second-day” look without weighing the hair down.”
While I am not very fond of dry shampoos, I have to say that the EIMI Dry Me is one that I have been reaching for this monsoon. It absorbs the excess sebum and sweat and leaves my hair feeling fresh and smelling lovely. My hair usually becomes limp and flat the day after I shampoo it and Dry Me helps restore a little volume to it without giving it an extra dry, “crunchy” texture that some other dry shampoos give. It is a saviour on the days when I don’t have time to shampoo my hair after a yoga session as well as for weekened trips and holidays. What I love the most about this and the other two EIMI products is the lovely fragrance that they have. Were it available as a perfume, I would have surely bought it.
EIMI Root Shoot ( ₹900 )
“Perfect root lift is just a shot away with this mousse designed for precision application.”
To be honest I have stayed away from hair mousse after a very unpleasant experience with them when I was in college and used too much mousse in my hair just before a fashion show. After that disaster, I decided that root volumising products and hair mousse were best left in the hands of hair stylists. But with EIMI Root Shoot, I realised that a low hold volume mousse is actually very easy to use and gives natural lift and volume without making the hair “crisp” and stiff like strong hold mousse does.
Besides using it before I blow dry my hair (which is something that I don’t do very frequently anyway), I make a cocktail of Root Shoot and Perfect Me and use it to scrunch my kinky, wavy hair and give it more defined curls – a perfect, fuss-free hair-do for the humid monsoons. And like I mentioned earlier, it leaves my hair smelling AMAZING!
EIMI Perfect Me ( ₹900 )
If you follow me on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter, you would have surely seen this picture. Well, it’s true, I simply LOVE the EIMI Perfect Me which is simply PERFECT for my dry, frizzy hair.
“This delicate smoothing lotion adds shine, repairs, moisturises, tames fly-aways and protects from heat tools. EIMI Perfect Me also features skin and hair care technologies for a repairing effect and gives you a natural look without looking “styled”.”
This lightweight BB lotion has a lovely texture – it has a thick, milky consistency that disappears into the hair making it smooth, frizz-free and shiny with a lovely fragrance. The other thing that sets this lotion apart from other serums and frizz-control creams is that the texture is so lightweight that even if you go a bit overboard with it, the hair doesn’t get greasy or feel weighed down. It retains it’s natural volume and movement but looks much smoother.
I have been using this every time I wash my hair – I apply a coin-sized amount on damp, towel-dried hair and then let my hair air-dry. My kinky, wavy hair becomes smooth waves with a lovely shine and barely any frizz (given the current high humidity that can turn anybody’s hair into a frizzy nest).
The Wella Professionals EIMI Range is really wonderful and I have been loving it, especially Perfect Me. It’s wonderful to have styling products that also care for the hair and make it smell so lovely!
