One brand that has been impressing me with their new launches, that is an Indian brand, that gives quality products at affordable rates – Lakme. Since the last couple of seasons, I have been loving Lakme’s new collections especially since they aren’t all matte like most other brand offerings are. As I have mentioned several times on the blog, I personally prefer glossy / satin / shimmery finishes to matte. If you follow me on social media, you would know that I have been loving the new Lakme products. With the festive season here, I decided to do a simple but glam look using the new Strobe and Shine collection from Lakme – limited edition products that have been created in collaboration with ace couturier Sabyasachi Mukherjee.
Festive Glam LOTD with Lakme Strobe and Shine
When Lakme sent me products from the new collection, they had also included two look cards with them. One of these, the Emerald Empress was a look I loved because I love jewel toned colours on the eyes. This Cleaopatra-inspired look was a bit out of my comfort zone, however, so I decided to modify it a bit – make it more wearable. So here’s my version of this Festive Glam LOTD……
Rather than go for a thick green line on my lower lash line, I stuck to normal black kajal to keep the look more wearable. I have created this entire look using only Lakme products. Since Diwali is anyway the festival of lights, I loved the sheen of the shimmery / metallic products of the Lakme Absolute Strobe and Shine products. And, as with all the looks I do, this one doesn’t take much time either….
These are the products I used:
- Lakme Absolute Illuminate Eyeshadow Palette in Gold
- Lakme Absolute Shine Line in Sparkling Olive
- Lakme Absolute Shimmer Brick in Coral
- Lakme Absolute Moonlit Highlighter
- Lakme Abolute Sun Kissed Bronzer
- Lakme Eyeconic Kajal in Black
- Lakme Absolute Lip Shimmer in Tropical Shine
Once I had my base on, I did my eyes with the gold and dark brown shades in the Absolute Eyeshadow Palette in Gold (like in this 15 minute makeup post). The look card mentions using only the gold shade but I wanted a bit more definition on the outer corner of my eyes and the crease as well as the lower lash line. I also lined my upper lash line and the waterline with the Eyeconic Kajal. Then, on the upper lash line, I applied the Shine Line in Sparkling Olive in a thick line, winging it out at the corner. A bit of mascara and my eyes were done.
Moving on to the face, the look card mentioned applying the Shimmer Brick in Coral on the cheeks. That’s what I did, and since I wanted a bit more definition on my cheeks I also swept a tiny bit of the Absolute Sun-Kissed Bronzer (reviewed here) in the hollows of my cheekbones. The Shimmer Brick gives a lovely glowy look but I couldn’t resist adding a bit of the Moonlit Highlighter to my cheekbones.
Finally, it was time to move on to the lips. My favourite shade from the Illuminating Lip Shimmers is Tropical Shine and it also looks similar to the shade in the look card. I applied that but then, since my outfit was a bright fucshia and the lipstick is more peach, I dabbed on a bit of Pink Flash on top of it.
And that was it. Simple and quick, isn’t it? Here are some more pictures of the finshed look clicked under different lighting….
Let me know what you think of this easy Festive Glam look. And it honestly doesn’t take much time. The thing that takes the maximum time is getting the winged eyeliner even on both sides. Let me know what you think of this look. I am really eager to read your comments. Also, do let me know if you’d like me to do more makeup looks (trust me, the looks I do will be easy and quick).

Thanks Renji. I usually do my makeup in just 15 minutes 😉
