Hope you all had a wonderful Diwali! And wish you all a very Happy New Year. Diwali is the time to meet family and friends and indulge in the yummy dishes, and of course, the various Pooja. For most people, Lakshmi Puja is the biggest one and that’s the one performed on Diwali evening. This is the one day in the entire year when I wear a sari (unless there is a wedding in the family).
If you’re a regular reader of my blog and have seen my previous Diwali LOTD, you would know that the Bandhani is my favourite kind of saree. The one I wore for Diwali this year was half orange with gold buttis woven through it and half bright pink bandhani. The border and pally have a little gota-patti work on it as well.
I HD just half an hour to get ready for the Puja – and that included doing my makeup, draping the sari and wearing the jewellery. So I stuck to my standard 15 minute makeup (explained in this post) but for the eyeshadow, I used the shade Lala from the Colorpop Mile High set. For the outer corner and crease, I went ahead with the same dark brown shade from the lakme palette as before.
On my eyes, I’m also wearing the new Faces Gel Kajal pencil which is simply WOW. I shall do a detailed review on that soon.
On my lips, I’m wearing the Mirenesse Mattfinity Lip Rouge in the shade Dubai, a beautiful bright, fuchsia pink.
So that was my Diwali LOTD and OOTD. Did you like the saree and the makeup. As mentioned earlier, I prefer to keep the makeup fairly simple and easy for festive occasions as well as weddings and stick to the look I know will work for me.
Let me know your thoughts on this Diwali look as well as the makeup. I am currently on a mini-vacation and shall get back to regular blogging soon. To them, you can check out my Instagram stories and Snapchat for more details.
