If you follow me on Snapchat, you would have seen me attend the launch event of the Moroccanoil Smoothing Range which was at Asilo, the rooftop lounge at the St. Regis Hotel. Ironically, the venue, the heat and the humidity ensured that my hair was a frizzy mess….
The picture above might tickle your funny bone but the struggle to control frizzy hair is a very real one. Especially if you live in a hot and humid city like Mumbai. Thankfully, the new range that was launched is a blessing for girls who struggle with frizzy hair – the Moroccanoil Smoothing Range consisting of a Shampoo, a Conditioner, a Mask and a Lotion. In the tw weeks that I have been using these products, I have to admit that I am in love with them. Or more accurately, my hair is. Read on to know more about them…
The Moroccan Oil Smoothing Range Review
About the Moroccanoil Smoothing Range
“Moroccanoil, the global leader and pioneer in professional oil-infused beauty products, is proud to now introduce a revolution in smoothing: New Moroccanoil Smoothing Range – an innovative, oil-infused range that transforms unruly hair to sleek, shiny and impossibly smooth. Specially designed to address the specific needs of women with frizzy, unruly hair, the complete smoothing regimen allows even the most unmanageable hair to obtain shiny, smooth perfection. The produts in this range include:
Moroccanoil Smoothing Shampoo & Conditioner
Moroccanoil Smoothing Lotion
Moroccanoil Smoothing Mask
Moroccanoil Smooth Collection formulations are enriched with our proprietary Moroccanoil argan oil-infused blend, potent and ultra-nourishing argan butter, as well as coconut-derived fatty acids, which leave hair soft, shiny and instantly more manageable. Additionally, all products are free of sulfates, phosphates, parabens, and are completely color-safe.”
Moroccanoil Smoothing Shampoo and Conditioner (₹1,800 each)
I have to say, I love the white and aqua packaging of the Moroccanoil products. They look so fresh and cheery! The Shampoo and Conditioner are both meant to be used in conjunction with each other because only then will the “proprietary AminoRenew ingredient restore amino acids to strengthen hair’s natural keratin structure.” Both of these products are also infused with Argan oil as well as Argan butter and really do live up the the claims of making the hair smooth, manageable and healthy-looking.
The shampoo being paraben-free, doesn’t lather much even when you add water to “activate rich lather” like the instructions tell you to. However, it does make your hair and scalp feel clean without stripping it of all the moisture. The conditioner is also really wonderful and hydrates and smoothens the hair without weighing it down. The shampoo and conditioner do help in controlling the frizz quite a bit even without using any other kind of leave in or styling products. And all the products in this range have a lovely soft fragrance that instantly makes one think of a luxe salon.
Moroccanoil Smoothing Mask (₹2,790)
For years my favourite hair mask has been the Rusk Sensories Wellness Bedew Treatment and though I have tried out several other hair masks – including a couple of high end ones – nothing has come close to the one by Rusk. Till I tried the Moroccanoil Smoothing Mask. My hair LOVES it and behaves so well when I use the mask! I use the mask once a week – and when I use the mask, I don’t use the conditioner, obviously – and it makes my hair so soft and smooth that I keep running my fingers through them. I wouldn’t recommend it to those who have fine, silky hair nor oily hair because, obviously, that kind of hair doesn’t need this mask.
Moroccanoil Smoothing Lotion (₹2,250)
As you all probably know by now, I prefer to air dry my hair on most days. While this is a healthier option for the hair since there is no heat styling involved, the hair does tend to look messy, especially if you have wavy, frizzy hair like I do. When I used the Moroccanoil Smoothing Lotion and let my hair air dry, it was a different look that I got – smooth, frizz-free, well-behaved waves! Don’t believe me? Check out this picture…
My Views
The Moroccanoil Smoothing Range is definitely a high end one but one that performs according to it’s claims. I love the fact that it is colour-safe and that it doesn’t have sulfates, parabens and phosphates. If your budget permits you to buy just one product from this range, I would highly, highly recommend the Moroccanoil Smoothing Lotion because it is a styling lotion that can be used with whatever shampoo and conditioner you are comfortable with. And whether you blow dry your hair after using it or air dry, you will get smooth, frizz-free hair. The Moroccanoil Smoothing Mask is another product that is fabulous super fabulous and one that is a must-have product in this humid weather.
I have tried the Repair range from the MoroccanOil products. I even reviewed it on my blog.
