Fashion changes, trends come and go, but certain things remain classic and timeless. Winged liner, red lipstick, the LBD (little black dress), French Manicure are just some of the timeless classics that look good in all seasons and for all occasions (well almost. A good neutral nail polish also belongs to that list since you can wear it in spring as well as winter, for work as well as party. The Bourjois So Laque polish in 03 BCBeigé is one such classic shade that I have been wearing continuously since I bought it a fortnight ago…..
I have always loved Bourjois products and love the colours and formulation they offer, be it lipsticks, blushes or nail polishes. (You can check out my reviews of Bourjois products here.) I had been hunting for a pale beige/grey nail polish since quite some time but most of the shades I could find were brown based beiges similar to shades I already had. I wanted something different and when I saw this polish at the Bourjois counter after my birthday lunch, I went “This. Is. It!”
This colour is really very unique. It is a pale greyish-beige with a creamy opaque finish and looks absolutely fabulous. I don’t think I’ve received as many compliments over a neutral polish as I have for this one. It looks very elegant and chic and is perfect for work. It works very well for evening as well since it looks subtle and goes with all clothes and makeup looks.

While I prefer the formulation and brush of the Bourjois 1Seconde polishes, which go opaque in just one coat, the So Laque range also has a pretty good formulation too. It is neither too thin nor too thick though the first coat appears to be a bit streaky. With two coats, however, it goes opaque and streak-free. This is also one of those rare polishes that stays for 3 days on my nails without chipping!
This gorgeous colour is also a dupe for Chanel Frenzy and Burberry Stone. Check out these pics…

Priced at ₹470, the Bourjois So Laque is certainly priced on the higher side. However, when you see that it is a near exact dupe for Chanel and Burberry, the price doesn’t feel that high. The shades might look a bit different due to the difference in skintone and lighting but trust me, they’re almost identical! (Bourjois also as a dupe of Chanel Taboo which I’ve reviewed here.) The quality of the polish is really good and it wears longer than even OPI on my nails.
What do you think of this shade? I’ve been removing and reapplying this shade since I bought it and highly recommend this to everyone because it is so elegant. Like I said, this is one timeless classic that will look good anytime, anywhere. Agree?
I am crazy about neutral shades. It is awesome 🙂
