What it is:
A hydrating fluid foundation that delivers just the right amount of coverage to create a naturally flawless, bare-skin effect.
What it does:
Diorskin Nude boasts 100 percent natural active ingredients and an extended shade range to create a shine-free, natural glow without masking the skin’s texture. With continued use, it improves the natural radiance and beauty of the skin day after day.
What else you need to know:
This formula is composed of a mineralized water enriched with an exclusive and natural floral water that offers hydration, radiance, and elasticity to the skin. Unlike most foundations that use opaque pigments and create a mask-like effect, Diorskin Nude Foundation uses exclusive Nude-Glow pigments that are translucent. They allow the skin’s natural radiance and color to shine through, appearing luminous in any light. (Info taken from www.sephora.com)
I got a sample of the Dior Diorskin Nude Foundation in my jan Vellvette box. I was waiting eagerly for an occasion to try it out coz I had read wonderful reviews about it. I finally got a chance to wear it when I had to go for a wedding reception a couple of days ago. (Actually, it was a very last minute thing; my in-laws had to go for a reception of some distant relatives but my father-in-law was feeling unwell since evening and hence hubby and I had to go….and my hair was in a total mess.)
Anyway, back to the foundation….
Diorskin Nude has a lovely fluid texture that spreads evenly and blends really well. It doesn’t feel greasy or heavy while applying or even later, it just feels lightweight as though applying a moisturiser. I got the shade 020 which initially looked a bit light for my skin tone but then settled very well and looked perfect for my tone.
As the name suggests, it is a light to medium coverage foundation and beautifully unifies the skin tone while looking totally natural. Don’t expect it to cover your freckles/sun spots/acne marks/dark circles though. You will surely need a concealer for those. (Same as with Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua)
As you can see in the pictures, my freckles and acne marks are fully visible. I took these pics before applying concealer so that you can get an idea about the coverage. You can also see that it does make the skin look radiant.
The foundation has a pleasant fragrance that I really liked, but there might be some for whom the fragrance might be a put off. I had got a 3ml sample which came in a tube (which is just enough for one application if you want a meduim coverage) but the acutely foundation comes in a glass bottle, that though beautiful looking and chic, wouldn’t be too practical for travel.
And now, for the price….the 30ml bottle of this foundation is priced at Rs. 3015 which is way higher than Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua. Performance wise, it is comparable to Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua so I think I’ll buy this once my Chanel foundation is over. However, in the USA, it is priced at $48 (approximately Rs. 2500) so if I decide to buy this, I will surely ask my bhabhi to get it for me along with some lovely gwp (gift with purchase). I really think it is unfair on the part of all the brands to firstly increase the prices so much for the Indian market and secondly, not give us those awesome gwps.
Well, here are the pics. My hair is absolutely disastrous so please turn a Nelson’s eye to that. The lipstick is MAC So Chaud.
