Most of you who read this blog will be aware of my love for L’Occitane products and will know that I have quite a nice collection of bath and body products from this brand. But every time I go to the L’Occitane store, all those pretty pink, lavender and light green bottles attract me and I ignore the simple bottles and tubs with a light brown label that looks like its been made from the paper used for covering school books and navy blue cap that also looks like a uniform colour. That’s the Shea Butter Collection.
This time however, when I was ordering from the L’Occitane website, I don’t know why but I added the Shea Butter ultra Rich Shower Cream and now, after using it since 3 days, I’m sooooo glad that I ordered it.
What L’Occitane says about this product: Foaming cleansing lotion slips on like silk, doubling as a shampoo. Creamy texture and detergent-free formula, with high percentage of 5% of nourishing Shea Butter, natural coconut foaming base and soy proteins, leave skin soft and supple, and hair with high shine. In a squeeze bottle perfect for shower and travel.
My experience: For once I have found a product that actually does exactly what it claims to do. Yes, it does slip on like silk, it is Ultra Rich and very very creamy, and does leave skin soft and supple. In fact, in the three days that I have been using this, I havent felt the need to apply a body lotion after my shower!!! My skin feels soft and moisturised after bathing with this. Perhaps those of you living in colder, drier places might need a lotion but in the mild Mumbai winters, I dont.
I have also been giving both my boys a bath with this shower cream and just like me, they too love its fragrance. It is a very mild, pleasant, warm, “babyish” fragrance…you know, the kind of fragrance you can smell on small babies, the sweet, innocent fragrance. Ok, maybe you might not understand what I’m trying to say. Just go to a store and smell it and you will know what I mean.
The packaging is very practical and convenient. It comes in a plastic bottle with a sturdy flip top cap. (This navy blue cap is sturdier than the silver caps on many of the L’Occitane Shower Gels and lotions). It is ideal for travelling and for keeping in young kids bathrooms.
Ok…the reason why I’m in such a rush to post this is because tomorrow is the last day of the sale and if you want to order it, you’s better log on fast to the L’Occitane website. The 75ml bottle is priced at Rs. 237 after discount (original price Rs. 395). I have already ordered 4 more bottles (yes you read that right, F-O-U-R) coz I’ve decided this is the only thing I’m going to use for both my sons’ bath and shampoo. It really is that wonderful!
So better hurry up……
Argh! I was about to rush to the website when I saw SLS in the ingredients. I’ve been sulphate-free for the last two months and want to complete a year and see the difference 🙁
Wow, that’s great…but its so difficult to get S free products in India. What products do u use for ur skin and hair?
I love the way u write reviews….
Thanks Preethi 🙂
