You know how it is in Bollywood movies….. One random incident or statement makes the character zoom into flashback mode? Well, that’s what happened with me last fortnight. I met my mom’s best friend after quite some time. She took one look at the acne on my face and said “Dollie, why aren’t you having Manjishthadi Quath?” And that made me flashback 20 years to the time when I first started getting acne. She was the one who had told me then, to have Zandu’s Brihat Mahamanjishthadi Quath and three months of that miracle medicine kept me acne free throughout my teens and twenties (with the exception of a random pimple or two)!!!
The word syrup might make you think of yummy tasting children’s cough syrups. But be warned, the taste of this one falls on the other end of the taste spectrum. It is B-I-T-T-E-R!!! Mom’s friend had told me that this was bitter but I hadn’t realised just how yuck it was gonna taste. But I was determined and I gulped it down. Now, once again, I’m determined to get rid of my acne so I just quietly swallow this bitter concoction.
It has been less than 15 days since I started taking this, once a day, and the difference is noticeable (touchwood). The existing pimples have subsided. There are no new eruptions (touchwood again) and I just need the marks to fade. I’m willing to take this for 2-3 months, as long as it takes to totally get rid of the pimples. If you are in your teens or suffering from acne, whatever your age, I strongly recommend you to try a bottle of this. Topical acne ointments, gels, face washes etc help in treating existing acne but don’t really prevent new ones from forming. This one does and I have experienced it myself. I haven’t tried any of the other “blood purifiers” for treating acne. This is the only one I have used and I’m so happy with its results that I don’t want to even try another one.
If you are suffering from acne, do try this. Yes, it tastes horribly bitter, but it’s a small price to pay for clear skin.
Have you tried Mahamanjishthadi Kwath? What works for you when you get pimples?
Does it prevent that time of the month month acne ?
Well, it does for me.
Oh lord, I have been suffering from stress acne since a while now. I will go and get this from the ayurveda store. I’ve never heard of this before but will have to get it nowwww

Hope you find it. Its difficult to get even in Bombay, just available at some Ayurvedic stores.
You’re a lucky girl. Tho, after taking this in my teens, I didnt get acne till recently.
