While we all love bright pops of colour on our lips, there are days or occasions that call for more subdued colours, soft colours. Dusky, rosy n*des are the colours I reach out for most frequently when I have to go for meetings at the boys’s schools. And if I wear a bright lipstick when I go for the Reading Program (that’s an initiative by elder son’s school to encourage reading among young children), then all the girls in my reading group will just keep staring at my lipstick rather than concentrating on their book. As it is, the first thing they notice is my nail polish!!!
My two absolute faves are the Clinique Long Last Lipstick in Blushing Nude and the YSL Glossy Stain in Corail Aquatique. And now there’s one more that has made it’s way to my heart, Lancome’s Rouge In Love in 230M, Rose Rendez-vous (or Rouge Rendezvous in USA)…
Come out and play with Lancome’s generously hydrating lipstick, Rouge In Love. Combine vibrant colour with a feather-light texture that lasts upto 6 hours.
The Rouge In Love lipsticks are classified into three catagories:
Matins: Fresh shades for daytime wear (M)
Boudoir: Pop shades for cocktail hour (B)
Tonight Is My Night: Intense shades for magical nights (N)
I feel, they should have simply named the night shades as Nuits in keeping with the French names for the other two catagories. But anyway….
The matte and shiny silver tube with the red “stitch” detailing looks so mignone (cute) and chic! It looks really classy and stands apart among all the, largely black, lipstick tubes. The only thing is, if you have more than one of these, then you need to check the name of the shade since there’s no way to see the colour inside the tube.
230M Rose Rendezvous is a beautiful dusky rose shade that is part of the Matins range, ideal for day wear. It would look good on most fair to medium skin tones. The colour is such that it would go with almost everything and gives a very polished look, especially for work. True to their claims, the texture is really very light and you can barely feel it on your lips. And it lasts a decent time too. Not 6 hours as they claim, but definitely 4. Coffee and a light snack won’t really budge a lipstick but a proper meal surely will. The lipstick also has a very pleasant fragrance that is slightly different from that of the L’Absolu Rouge range.
Priced at Rs. 1750, it is a luxe buy for sure. The packaging, the fragrance, the texture, all are luxurious and worth the splurge. I have been coveting a couple of other shades from the Rouge In Love range but I’m currently quite content with my makeup collection (I’m such a good girl, ain’t I?) so I am resisting the urges to splurge! You can check out the swatches of the other shades in this collection in my post here.
I haven’t done a lip swatch since I’m going through a purging after starting the new toner. Hopefully, that should be over and done with by next week. Fingers crossed….
Have you tried the Lancome Rouge In Love Range? Which is your fave shade?
