The social calendar plays a very important role in the hair colour schedule. You’d always want to colour your hair just before an event so that you have a glossy shiny colour and no greys. And of course, a good hair day always makes one feel pretty and young. A lot of people think colouring their hair will damage it but Casting Creme Gloss has no ammonia so say hello to shiny & glossy hair!

Younger son recently turned four (can’t believe he’s four already!) and I coloured my hair just the day before his party. I had my entire look planned for his party, what I would wear, how I’d do my hair, what my makeup would be like… But I failed to remember the lessons that my kids’ earlier parties have taught me. And that is, there’s no time for me to do my makeup etc properly the day of the party. No matter how well prepared you are, there are always things that pop up at the last moment so that you’re so rushed, you don’t really have time to do your makeup the way you want. Perhaps that doesn’t happen with everyone, but it ALWAYS happens with me.
Anyway, here’s what I wore for my son’s birthday….and the reason why I say this is one of my Khoobsoorat moment…
I wanted a maxi but something very simple and elegant that would look nice for a child’s party. Also I wanted it to have a comfortable fit because I had a lot of running around to do. This white lace dress that I got from Promod seemed perfect. It has a thin gold mesh belt that looks delicate and pretty.
I kept the accessories simple too, just a gold neckpiece and a gold bracelet, my solitaire earrings and rings. That’s it. As you can see, my “makeup” consisted of just a BB cream, kohl and a pink lipstick.
Despite not having adequate time to do my makeup, I got several compliments on my look. What made me happiest is when I was told that I don’t look old enough to be a mother of two boys (who doesn’t like such flattery??) Haha. But jokes apart, what I loved the most was seeing the kids have a blast. It is such a wonderful feeling when you put in effort and plan a party and when you see the kids having a good time, you feel your efforts have paid off. That’s what made me happiest….and I guess when you’re happy, it shows on your face and that’s what makes you look pretty. Which is why, I really count this as my “Khoobsoorat moment”.
And as one of my favourite children’s’ author, Roald Dahl says:
What do you think of my OOTD?
