Memebox Special #32 OMG2 – Unboxing, Contents and First Impressions.

Now here’s a Memebox that I have been waiting for since absolutely AGES!!! It was languishing at the Mumbai Customs department since a whole month and……well, it’s a long story. I was harassed terribly by the Customs department and I’m going to file a complaint against them.. But that’s another story. I don’t want to rant over here….
So, anyway. As you all know, the Memebox is an amazing themed subscription box filled with beauty products from Korea some of which have been responsible for giving my skin this amazing transformation. (You can read about all my previous Memeboxes here.) Because of the delay in receiving this box, I already knew what the contents were but that, infact made me even more eager to get my hands on my box. Let’s see what was in the Memebox Special #32 OMG2….
Memebox Special #32 OMG2 - review, unboxing and contents.
“We’ve rounded up some of the kookiest and most unusual beauty trends that took Seoul by storm! From funky makeup trends to cool skin and hair treatments, these fun cosmetic innovations will definitely inspire you to rethink your current makeup routine. Loaded with even weirder, even funkier Memebox cult favourites, this box is a must have for beauty enthusiasts and beauty-holics!”

While this description was tempting, I was also apprehensive about receiving things with “horse oil” or “emu oil”. Was I lucky enough to not get them? Well, here are the contents of the OMG2 box…

Memebox Special #32 OMG2 unboxing, contents and first impressions.
The box was really heavy and jam packed with 6 full-sized products. Here’s what was inside:
* Cristallin Cellulose Mask 28g x 2 – ($10)
* Ladykin Vanpir Dark Repair Cream 50ml ($50)
* Milky Dress Bohr-Effect Carboxy Gel 1set ($24)
* Priori Aroma Ac Moisture Gel Mist 100ml ($24)
* Seatree Sun-Ake Total Solution 100ml ($19)
* Haruen Dorothy Haruen-S 1ea ($26)
This box was priced at $29 + shipping and the total value of products in the box came to $153. Even with Memebox’s tendency to inflate the prices, this box definitely does have fantastic value for money. Let’s take a quick look at each of the products:

Cristallin Cellulose Mask in Memebox Special #32 OMG2 unboxing, contents and first impressions.
There’s one Wrinkle Balance Mask and one Whitening Balance mask in the set that came in. I used the Wrinkle Balance one yesterday, and though I don’t have any wrinkles yet (touchwood), the results made me go OMG! In just 40 minutes (it says to keep it on for 15-20 minutes but I left it on for 40), my skin felt WOW! It just felt smoother, more plumped and incredibly soft. While the OMG factor here was supposed to be the jelly-like texture that “feels like an octopus wrapped around your face – eww”, to me, it felt cool and a bit clammy, but a nice sensation overall. And like I said, I was wowed by the results. I wonder what results I’d get if I left it on overnight….Hmm….
These masks are available for sale in the Memeshop in sets of 5 for $24 per set. You can buy the Wrinkle-Balance ones here and the Whitening-Balance here.

Ladyki Vanpir Dark Repair Cream in Memebox Special #32 OMG2- unboxing, contents and first impressions.
This moisturiser claims to restore luminosity, correct weak moisture barriers and protect skin from future discolorations. It has melanin-inhabiting green tea as well as anti-aging properties. I don’t know in what manner this cream is supposed to make you exclaim OMG. Perhaps it makes your skin so wrinkle-free and flawless that people around you say “OMG, your skin looks great, what have you been using?”???? I certainly hope so…. I really like the chic little black jar with the black fangs on it. And it comes with a little spatula so you don’t have to dig your fingers into it. Nice.
The Ladykin Vanpir Dark Repair Cream is currently on available at a 50% discount in the Memeshop. You can buy it here.

Milky Dress Bohr-effect carboxy gel in Memebox Special #32 OMG2
OMG! What is this thing? What is Bohr-effect? What is Carboxy Gel? Well, Bohr-effect is “a physiological phenomenons stating that the hemoglobin’s oxygen-binding affinity is inversely related both to acidity and to the concentration of carbon dioxide”. Simply put, an increase in the blood’s CO2 concentration will lead to a decrease in the blood pH and thus making the hemoglobin proteins release their load of oxygen. Whew! The Carboxy Gel is just something that will cause an increase in the CO2 levels. Science lesson over.
This sci-fi Bohr Effect Carboxy Gel Mask is currently available at a massive discount in the Memeshop here. Instead of it’s actual price of $24, it is on sale for $8!!!

Priori Aroma Ac Moisture Gel Mist
I wasn’t a user of face mists and sprays but recently, after I got the Blithe Water Patting Pack, I added that to the Dermalogica Multi-Active Toner and my skin loves it. So, I’m really glad I got another face mist and this one, is a gel one.
And OMG! I can’t believe this is my first Bee Venom product! I have heard so much about Bee Venom and it’s botox-like effects, I am really eager to try it out. The gel mist also has propolis, sohora roots, balloon flower roots and Multi EX Magnotics (???). I checked the entire ingredient list and it is super-impressive! It smells very soothingly of lavender. This product however, doesn’t seem to be available on Memeshop.

Seatree Syn-Ake Total Solution in Memebox Special #32 OMG2
OMG! Synthetic (thankfully) snake venom!!! This product was randomly selected from either the Essence or the Total Solution. I got the Total Solution which is like a serum. With synthetic snake peptides (similar in composition to snake venom) and hyaluronic acid, this is supposed to be a one-stop solution for uneven skintone, lines and wrinkles and makes skin firmer, more radiant and more supple. Very interesting.
I tried to search for this product in the Memeshop but couldn’t find it.

Haruen Dorothy Haruen-S volcanic rollerball in Memebox Special #32 OMG2
How. Innovative. Is. This? A rollerball made with volcanic rock that absorbs excess oil, grease and other blackhead and acne inducers from the skin, mattifies it and controls oil and sebum? OMG is the right expression for it. And it isn’t just a volcanic rock. It is a Volcanic rock housed in a pretty rose gold packaging! Several bloggers have been raving about it and I feel this is just the product I will be reaching out for in a couple of months when the weather in Bombay starts getting terribly humid again.
The Haruen-S is available on the Memeshop here as well as the replacement rollerballs.

While several bloggers have expressed disappointment at not receiving products with shocking ingredients such the ones I was apprehensive about, I am super happy with all the products I have received in this box. I didn’t want products that would make me go “OMG…ewww. Yuck!”, I wanted products that would make me go “OMG…WOW!” either because of their ingredients or because of their effect on my skin. After the super-disappointing Skinfood Box, this box made the long customs ordeal worthwhile.

  1. Same here…. Can you share your mail id with me.

  2. On the Mumbai Customs website, there are some email addresses. Can complain to them. Hubby doesn’t want me to coz, you know, why get into hassles with government agencies. Have more boxes on the way. Let’s see what happens with those.

  3. So the same thing happened to me. But I realized that the process is different for express vs standard, and I now order only standard shipping. Wanted to know how you are going to file a complaint

  4. Lol. Preethi, I think I’m among the ones with the fewest boxes :p

  5. I had sent someone from my office with the documents they wanted but they made that person come on three different days fixing various excuses. Despite sending everything, they were not willing to send the box to ADC for examining, they just wanted a bribe. Which is had to pay. I had no choice 🙁

  6. I really need to write a big rant post on the Mumbai Customs department!!!
    But you should be glad, you got your refund and the boxes, both!

  7. So far, I haven’t heard of customs problems in Delhi. Best of luck.

  8. I hope the Customs don’t trouble me in delhi!

  9. good box….I don’t know why I missed it… And mumbai customs sucks!!

  10. Hey, please let me know what you are doing for the customs. Been through something similar for one of my memebox sets… Happy to join in

  12. It was never this bad earlier, don’t know what problem the customs department has now.
    I’m so glad you like the Pebblesonic, it is truly a wonderful device 🙂

    A very tempting box, but like you experienced..unnecessary stress with customs has been discouraging me from trying the meme boxes. Btw I bought the pebble sonic, loving it. 🙂
