New Launches From Sand For Soapahlolics

I  had tried, and liked, a couple of products from Sand For Soapaholics earlier; the Forever Twenty Hair Oil Cake and Quick Fix Hair and Face Serum (read the review here). This is a brand that uses edible and medicinal plants in their products along with other quality ingredients and each product is handmade, right from mixing and blending to curing and packaging. So when they had some new products being launched, I of course, was very excited to try them out. Here are some of the new launches from Sand For Soapaholics.

The new products are:

  • Mogambo Shaving Cream
  • Time Capsule Facial Serum
  • Marjawan Bathing Soap
  • Checkmate Facial Soap
  • Fruit Blast Soap

Let’s take a look at each product….

Mogambo Shaving Cream

An SLS and Paraben-free shaving cream, this one has quite an impressive ingredient list (but then so do most of the Sand For Soapaholics products). I gave it to my father-in-law to try out and he said he quite liked it, though it takes some getting used to after using the thick shaving foams. It has a fresh, slightly lemony fragrance that isn’t easy to describe.

Ingredients: Every 10g contains Linseed Inf, Oil blend of Coconut seed, Almond Seed, Olive seed, Neem Leaf, Turmeric Rhysome, Vitamin E, Vegetable Glycerine, Essential Oil blend of Lemon Fruit, Patchouli Leaf, Orange Fruit, Grapefruit, Aloe Vera gel, Rose Flower Wax, Honey, Xanthan Gum.

Time Capsule Facial Serum

Though the lid mentions “Oh Curcumal”, the tiny jar has “Time Capsule – Facial Serum” written on it. The cream, which is quite thin and lightweight, appears to have some gritty particles in it but doesn’t seem gritty at all when you apply it. I just need a little bit for my entire face and it feels smooth to massage. This serum-cream hybrid gets absorbed easily and gives a dewy finish. Because of it’s texture and finish, I would recommend it as part of your night routine rather than day. I love the fact that it doesn’t have any silicones, mineral oil, parabens, phenoxyethanol or any other chemicals that most serums have. Having said that, don’t assume that it won’t irritate sensitive skins. Even essential oils can irritate sensitive skin so it is better to be careful.

Ingredients: Aloe Vera, Oil blend of Jojoba, Avocado, Vitamin E, Grapeseed Extract, Blend of Pomegranate and Lotus, Witch Hazel, Essential Oil blend of Lavender and Chamomile.

Marjawan Bathing Soap

New Launches From Sand For Soapahlolics

The name of this soap reminded me of the song from the movie Fashion while it’s fragrance reminded me of a clay body wrap that I had experienced at the Four Fountains Spa. This soap is a very well-timed launch because the clay and glycerine make it the perfect product for the monsoons. While it isn’t much to look at, it certainly is a good product. The Dead Sea Mud and Salt are good cleansers and whisk away the extra sebum and stickiness that the humidity in monsoon generally brings while the honey, glycerine and coconut and sesame seed oils add moisture to the skin.

Checkmate Facial Soap

Another monsoon offering, this charcoal soap helps cleanse the skin without drying it out. There are tiny bits of oatmeal in it as well which you can hardly feel on the face. I wish they had increased the amount of oatmeal in it since that is an effective, yet gentle exfoliator. It has a spa-y, herbal-y fragrance that is quite refreshing.

Fruit Blast Soap

True to it’s name, this soap smells like a blast of fruity candy and looks like one too! My boys waited till I finished taking pics of it and immediately claimed it for themselves. It smells lovely and it the perfect thing to wake up the sleepy boys in the morning. It doesn’t dry out their skin delicate skin either!

Ingredients: Every 10gm contains Distilled Water , Sodium Lauryl Sulphate , Oil blend of Coconut Endosperm (Cocos nucifera) & Olive Seed (Oela europaea), Vegetable Glycerine, Colour

With the exception of Fruit Blast, which is already on their website, neither of the new launches have been updated as yet so I don’t have any idea about their prices. I guess the update should happen soon and I will update my post with the prices and sizes once I get to know of them.
