Sigma Spa Express Brush Cleaning Glove Review

Cleaning makeup brushes is one task that I truly dislike. I realise the importance of keeping the makeup brushes clean (and thus, our faces acne-free) but that doesn’t change the fact that I dread the weekly brush cleaning sessions. That changed, however, when Sigma Beauty sent me their new Sigma Spa Express Brush Cleaning Glove and with this new “toy” to play with, I actually looked forward to cleaning the brushes! This Spa Express Brush Cleaning Glove is a sleeker, travel-friendly version of Sigma’s original Spa Brush Cleaning Glove. Read on for the…..

The first thing that struck me when I held the glove in my hand was how much research must have gone into creating each of the different textures for different brushes! Each surface of the brush has different textures for washing, rinsing, refining and “refine plus”. The glove is reversible and each side has “Face” and “Eyes” mentioned on it so you know which side to use for which brushes.

When I first used this glove, I used it without turning it inside out so I ended up washing both, the eye and face brushes on the “Eye” side of the glove and yet I was surprised at how clean the brushes turned out! The silicone ridges and grooves on the glove actually do a brilliant job of cleaning the brushes and my foundation and powder brushes were as clean as new! I certainly can’t get them that clean when I wash them by hand. Not to mention the fact that I have to slather my hands in shea butter to pamper them after washing all those brushes!

Because it doesn’t have any distinctive right/left side and because it is reversible, both right-handed and left-handed people can use it comfortably. The lower strap also ensures that it doesn’t keep slipping off your palm when you’re scrubbing the brushes to get them clean.

The Spa Express Brush Cleaning Glove is very lightweight and, since it is made of silicone, very flexible too so you can’t break or tear it (unless you attack it with a pair of scissors). It is thin and travel-friendly too if you need to carry it on your travels.

Here’s a picture of the brushes after I washed them. I hope you can see how clean they have become. Also, some pictures of all the different textures on the glove….
