L’Oreal Professionnel recently launched the Extreme Splash gel to help fashionistas recreate the season’s go-to wet look seen on the runways and red carpet events. The look includes sleek, slicked-down looks; after-pool styles, shiny wet buns or even dual-effect looks with wet roots and textured ends.
The new international spokesperson for L’Oreal Professionnel, Eva Green, is also seen wearing the wet look in the latest campaign for the brand…
About Extreme Splash by Techni.Art
Inspired by the explosion of wet looks on runways and red carpets, L’Oréal Professional creates Extreme Splash– an elastic-hold, wet look gelée for an ultra-sleek, yet supple effect that lasts, even in extreme conditions. Its revolutionary unbreakable technology includes a mix of high-fixing, texturizing polymers and glycerin. It can be used on dry or damp and on any length. Extreme Splash is ideal to create wet looks – from a slicked back, after-pool look to the wet look ballerina bun, or even dual-textured styling effects.
When I was sent the Extreme Splash gel for reviewing, I was at a loss as to how to style my hair with this gel. All I could think of was a just-out-of-shower-messed-up-curls kind of wet look. When I was told that I could also use it to create a dual-textured red carpet look, I was curious to know how I could do that. L’Oreal then invited me for a session with their senior hairstylist who showed me the different ways in which I could use this gel to create different looks while giving me a side-swept style. Check out the pictures….
Using the Extreme Splash gel on one side, my hair was slicked back giving it the thorough wet look. My bangs were blow dried and kept on the side of the curls so as to keep the focus on the wet look. While this side was sleek and “wet”, there was a play of contrasts on the other side where the curls were textured and yet “wet”. Around 4-5 pumps of Extreme Splash was used to scrunch my curls into definition which were then blow-dried using a diffuser. So I got a wet look on the roots as well as the ends of my hair but with a lot of difference.
And here’s the Before and After….
The L’Oreal Professionnel Extreme Splash has really good hold too and if you use a lot of it, then the hair feels stiff to touch. But it holds the style really well, even in heat, humidity and through a bit of rain too. Of course, you need to shampoo it thoroughly to get it all out as well the next day. Even if we don’t have any special events to attend to, using the Extreme Splash for a work-day slicked-back ponytail kind of look will ensure that your hair stays neat and sleek for the entire day!
I took this picture around 4 hours after I got the hair experiential and because by then my neck had started aching (due to the hair all being on one side – I’m not used to that), I got my curls back to both the sides. And hey, I think that looks pretty good too, don’t you think?
When I don’t have time to style my wet hair (which is most days) the Extreme Splash comes in very handy to create textured, wet curls. But while I may use it only occassionally, hubby loves it and uses it almost everyday! For men who like to add a bit of texture to their hair, most products give a matte look. Extreme Splash, however, gives texture plus hold plus shine! Is it any wonder then, that this has become his favourite hair gel now?
The L’Oreal Professionnel Extreme Splash is priced at ₹700 for 150 ml which is very affordable because one bottle is surely going to last a long time. After all, people don’t use dollops of it for such fancy looks everyday, do they?
Have you tried the Extreme Splash gel yet? What did you think of my side swept look? Do let me know in the comments. And hey, there are still a few days to go for my giveaway to end. Do enter here if you’d like to win a Korean Sheet Mask hamper from Skin18.com
