L’Oreal Paris White Perfect Magic White Double Whitening Cream SPF 19 and Eye Cream Review

L'Oreal White Perfect Magic White Double Whitening Cream SPF 19 and Eye cream review

I am typing on my laptop after a long time! After I announced the Skin18 giveaway winners, I was busy with shifting to another apartment (since our apartments are undergoing major refurbishment) and I barely had time to even breathe! But I hope I can now devote more time to the blog once again.

Most of my stuff was packed up in cartons, including all my skincare and makeup,   because I was busy unpacking the kitchen and other household stuff first. The new launches from L’Oreal Paris arrived just then so that I could start using them immediately. In fact, since my toners and serums just got unpacked today, I have been using only the L’Oreal Paris White Perfect Magic White Double Whitening Cream SPF 19 and Eye Cream since the last 6 days. Read on for the review and please excuse the dull pictures. There isn’t any place in this apartment where I get ample light for the pictures. And as for FOTDs, I think I will have to forget those for a few months because the mirrors here are so badly placed, far away from the light sources making it very difficult for me to do my makeup!!! Anyway, here’s the review…….

L’Oreal Paris White Perfect Magic White Double Whitening Cream SPF 19

“Enriched with double whitening KPT technology, White Perfect Magic White Day Cream utilizes thousands of magical T102 beads that melt into the skin to instantly brighten, revitalize and smoothen the skin texture. The micro-beads further initiate micro-exfoliation to accelerate the skin regeneration procedure thus reducing dullness and dark spots.”

L'Oreal White Perfect Magic White Double Whitening Cream SPF 19 and Eye cream review

The description given by the brand of this cream makes it sound really high-tech – KPT technology, T102 beads etc – but nowhere is there any mention of WHAT exactly KPT stands for and what the T102 beads are. However, this cream does perform what it claims to; it does give instant brightness and radiance and a matte finish so that even at the end of a long day of unpacking cartons, I looked fresh! Of course, I haven’t used it long enough to know if it does actually diminish my dark spots or not.

The texture is a bit on the dry side and it does need some careful blending in to give a uniform “fair” appearance. If it isn’t blended properly, then you would have patches of white on your face making it look very obvious that you have applied something. Since it is really hot and humid these days, the matte finish is quite welcome though dry-skinned girls would need to use a hydrating serum underneath this. My face stayed bright and matte for pretty much the entire day though the T-zone did start getting shiny around midday. Also, though it has SPF 19, should you, like me choose to apply a proper broad-spectrum sunscreen, then you would have to apply that BEFORE you apply this cream or else you would lose out on it’s brightening effects. You will understand what I mean when you see the picture of the blended cream.

Ingredients

As you can see from the ingredients, this is a silicone heavy cream. It hasn’t broken me out as yet and I guess we have the Salicylic Acid to thank for that. However, it also has parabens and phenoxyethanol. Those who have sensitive skin should try this with caution because though it hasn’t caused me sensitivity, it could react differently on your skin. I forgot to mention that it does make an excellent base for makeup so you could use it as a brightening primer.

Priced at ₹ 799 for 50ml.

L’Oreal Paris White Perfect Magic White Double Whitening Eye Cream

“Formulated with Vitamin CG, Caffeine and Opti Blur technology, White Perfect Magic White Eye cream causes
an instant blur effect and visible contouring and brightening around the eyes. Micro-whitening pigments present in the formula ensure visible reduction in dark circles, bags, and wrinkle lines.”

White Perfect Magic White Double Whitening Eye Cream feels more like a primer than a skincare product. This one too is Silicone heavy, goes on very smoothly and, almost instantly, makes the fine lines appear less noticeable and the eye area less puffy. It does slightly brighten the undereye area but if you have major dark circles, like I do at the moment, it won’t really do much. Concealer does go on very smoothly over this without sinking into fine lines and lasts longer too.

As with the Day Cream, this one too, is loaded with silicones. In fact, more than the day cream as you will see from the texture. The caffeine in it helps reduce puffiness around the eyes and though the eye cream doesn’t have parabens, it does have phenoxyethanol.

Priced at ₹ 599 for 15ml.

Can you see what I meant when I said that it has to be blended properly? And can you see how it has brightened and made “fair” the part of my hand where I have applied the day cream? The eye cream doesn’t really do much brightening as compared to the day cream. The area with the eye cream appears brighter because some of the day cream had spread there.

My Views

The L’Oreal Paris White Perfect Magic White Double Whitening Cream SPF 19 certainly does give instant fairness. It remains to be seen how the long term effects are. It is a really good brightening cream and primer for normal, combination and oily skin’s in this hot, humid weather though dry-skinned girls would need a hydrating serum underneath it. Just be aware that it is loaded with silicones and has parabens and phenoxyethanol.

The Eye Cream, on the other hand, doesn’t really do much for brightening the eye area or making the dark circles appear less noticeable. It does, however, make fine lines and puffiness appear diminished and it also forms a smooth base for your eye makeup.
