Hey everyone,
My server issues have finally got sorted out and I am so glad that I can get back to blogging. There are so many posts that I have to write and products that I have to review that I really wonder how long it will take for all the backlog to get cleared up. The post I am going to start with today is a beauty box. Not just any beauty box, this one has all vegan products! I am talking about the Vegan Cuts Beauty Box. Read on to know more about this cruelty-free, animal and nature friendly beauty box…
Vegan Cuts Beauty Box November 2015
About the Vegan Cuts Beauty Box
Vegan Cuts Beauty Box (they also have a Snack Box) is a monthly subscription box that sends out 4-7 vegan beauty products (a mix of full size and delux sample size) each month. Vegan products are a step above vegetarian since they do not include dairy products either. The Vegan Cuts team of plant-loving beauty enthusiasts try out all the products before deciding to include them in a box. And, they ship worldwide.
Here’s what I got in my Vegan Cuts November 2015 Beauty Box:
- 100% Pure Long Last Black Tea Liquid Eyeliner (full size, $28)
- Bohemian Beauty Co. Botanical Facial Steam (sample size. Full size priced at $15)
- Shea Radiance Moisturising Hair Milk (59ml. Full size 240ml $16)
- Nubian Heritage Indian Hemp and Haitian Vetiver Body Lotion (88ml. Full size 384ml $12)
- Mineral Fusion Mini Nail Polish (mini polish. Full size $8)
100% Pure Long Last Black Tea Eyeliner
This is a super fabulous product and I simply LOVED it! The 100% Pure Long Last Black Tea Eyeliner is so pigmented and creamy, lasts long and yet, comes off easily with a makeup remover without any need to be aggressive on the eyes. The long cap makes it easy to hold and the thin brush is perfect to create all sorts of looks, from the thinnest to a bold, thick one. It goes on glossy but when it dries, it gives a more creamy finish that looks more like a gel liner than a liquid eyeliner. It is really an awesome product and makes me long to try out other products from 100% Pure.
Bohemian Beauty Co. Botanical Facial Steam in Calming
This is a really unique product. It is a blend of herbs and flowers that you add to water and use to stem your face. When you inhale this steam, it is supposed to relax and calm you as well as your skin. The Bohemian Beauty Co Botanical Facial steam has red clover blossoms, lavender flowers, chamomile flowers, rosehip, rose petals and other such wonderful flora. I will try this out over the weekend because my skin is truly stressed because of the hectic week and the lack of sleep.
Shea Radiance Moisture Hair Milk
The Shea Radiance Moisture Hair Milk is a leave-in conditioner and comes in a convinient spray bottle. It helps detangle hair, adds volume and body, boosts shine and controls frizz! It contains Shea Butter that is sourced from Africa and a portion of the proceeds from the sale of this product goes to AGRIWA (Agricultural Initiative for Women in Africa). Talk about doing good to your hair and to the society…
Nubian Heritage Indian Hemp and Haitian Vetiver Body Lotion
Though the names says lotion, it is as rich and thick as a cream! Non-greasy and very moisturising, this body lotion has a high content of hemp seed oil which is rich in Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids. It also has Shea butter and Neem oil and it’s mild fragrance and rich texture makes it a wonderful product for even the driest, most sensitive skin.
Mineral Fusion Mini Nail Polish
When I saw on the information card (which I can’t seem to find at the moment) that this box has a nail polish from Mineral Fusion, I was really thrilled because this brand makes polishes that are Toulene-free, camphor-free, DBP-free, formaldehyde-free and of course, cruelty-free as well. The card said that the polish would be a winter appropriate shade but I was a bit disappointed to see that I had received Lagoon, a teal blue polish. Blues and greens, aquas and mints aren’t nail colours I choose to wear because they look horrible on me. But hey, that isn’t Vegan Cuts’ fault!
To Sum It Up
The Vegan Cuts Beauty Box has a nice mix of products and I am amazed at the quality of these brands! I usually wouldn’t have liked to get a staid old black eyeliner in a beauty box but this one from 100% Pure really impressed me. No synthetic chemicals, only fruit-based dyes…it is really a brand to try. The body lotion also is wonderful and I look forward to trying out the rest of the products in the box.
Priced at $20 (free shipping in USA and Canada, $15 for international shipping) those of us in India might find the box to be a little expensive mainly because of the rate of exchange between the two countries. However, just the eyeliner is priced at $28, which is more than the price of the box! If you are a vegetarian/vegan, then I highly reccommend that you check out this beauty subscription box.
What did you think of the contents of the box? Do let me know in the comments below….-
