The season for Fashion Weeks is here and the first one to kick off- in time for the festive and, more importantly, the wedding season – was the India Couture Week that took place last week in Delhi. Some of the best, most coveted designers showcased their collections at the Couture Week and MAC, who was the official makeup partner, ensured that the makeup was at par with the gorgeous creations. Here are my favourite Bridal looks by MAC at the India Couture Week…..
Mickey Contractor for Manish Malhotra
We Indians love our smokey eyes and makeup maestro Mickey Contractor is the undisputed guru of the smokey eye. I loved the fresh spin on the smokey in this look with just wing on the lower lash being softly extended while the upper lid is thinly lined. He has kept this look fresh and feminine with a soft pink lipstick and flushed cheeks. This look would be great for a cocktail or a sangeet. Brides can add some fun to this look by replacing the black/grey on the lower lash line with jewelled tones.
Mickey Contractor for Tarun Tahiliani
This look’s allure lies in it’s elegant simplicity. The bronze-Goddess look highlights the features of the face while keeping the whole look very subtle and understated. Perfect for the haldi ceremony or for the pre-marriage puja where the bride wants to look radiant and beautiful but not overly made up.
Mickey Contractor for Anamika Khanna
What a gorgeous, young, romantic look! Dewy skin, clean eyes, flushed cheeks and red lips. I love the versatility of this look since this is something anybody can wear, at any time, for any occassion / function.
Sonic Sarwate for Reynu Tandon, Rimple and Harpreet Narula
A classic, timeless look with sculpted cheeks, softly defined eyes and nude lips. What’s not to love? Elegant and minimalist, this look lets the focus stay on the outfit and the jewellery without screaming for attention while at the same time enhancing the natural beauty of the bride. Or the bridesmaid..
Sonic Sarwate for Rohit Bal
Smokey eyes, chiselled cheeks and red lips – the quintessential bridal look. No more words needed.
Mickey Contractor for Manav Gangwani
I had to keep my favourite look for the last. While all these looks are absolutely gorgeous and wearable, I simply loved this one by Mickey Contractor for Manav Gangwani because it is a truly traditional Indian Bridal look. Love the smokey eyes, the sculpted cheeks and the deep, berry lips.
Which one of these looks is your favourite? I’d love to try and recreate one/all of these looks. Which one do you think I should do? Let me know in the comments below.
pretty interesting stuff MAC does all the time! reminds me to do my favorites post too! <3
The vast range that they have, it’s difficult NOT to have favourites from MAC 🙂
