Good cameras are a must for bloggers but at the same time, it is very cumbersome to carry a big camera and lenses to all events. Smartphone cameras come to the rescue here and so, the camera becomes a very important feature while choosing a smartphone. Asus recently launched the new Zenfone 3 which they claim is “Built for Photography” and has some very impressive specs. The day I received this phone for testing, I had to attend a fashion show, so I decided to put the camera to test there. Read on to know more about this phone and the various camera features it offers…..
Asus Zenfone 3
Asus Zenfone 3 Specifications
Price: Rs. 21,999 for the 5.2″ version. Available here.
The Asus Zenphone 3 is perhaps the most beautiful phone I have used. What sets apart it’s metallic body from the metal bodies of other smart phones is the gorgeous concentric-circle design on the back. When I first got the phone, I spent around 10 minutes just admiring the back and the way the circles reflected light.
The front and back of the phone are strengthened with Corning Gorilla Glass that helps keep the beauty of the phone intact and safe from unsightly scratches. Slim, sleek and stylish that’s what the Asus Zenfone 3 is!
The Asus Zenfone 3 is available in two size variants, 5.2″ and 5.5″. Besides the Shimmer Gold colour shown here, it is also available in Moonlight White, Aqua Blue and Sapphire Black.

For those of you, who like me can’t decipher too much of the camera tech jargon, let me just put it simply – the camera on the Asus Zenfone 3 is fabulous! And it has a plethora of modes that you can choose from to take your picture quality to the next level. It takes super crisp, sharp images, especially when you take pictures with the HDR Mode or the Super Resolution Mode. The optical zoom on this phone was even better than on my phone so at the fashion show, I ended up taking more pictures from the Zenfone 3 than with my phone! Especially to zoom in and capture the celebrities who were sitting quite far from me. Just take a look at some of the pictures from the fashion show….
See how crisp the pictures are? Despite the fact that in these pictures the models are in motion! That is thanks to the exclusive TriTech autofocus technology in the Asus Zenfone 3 that gives clear focus in just 0.03seconds! It also boasts of a four-axis optical image stabiliser that prevents blurry pictures even though your hand might be shaking with excitement because you’re sitting next to Bobby Deol and opposite Arjun Rampal!
And yes, you can zoom all the way in and yet get a relatively clear picture of Deepika Padukone, Farah Khan and Amitabh Bachchan – something that both mine and hubby’s phones failed to capture with such clarity at this level of zoom.
The front camera too, doesn’t disappoint if you want to surreptitiously capture a selfie while the show is going on…
The Asus Zenfone 3 has one camera mode that is a beauty blogger’s delight – Depth of Field. It makes the task of clicking product pictures with a defocussed background so simple that it made me wonder why I bothered to spend so much on a new camera! Here’s one picture I clicked with the Depth of Field mode…
For travel bloggers, the panorama mode is also very important to capture stunning landscapes. Here is a picture I clicked with the Panorama mode…
The phone has captured the urban landscape in the panorama mode so well, despite it being a cloudy evening (as you can see from the overcast skies). I can only imagine how beautiful the pictures would be when the landscape is a verdant mountain range or a azure blue waters and golden sand.
And here are a couple more pictures to show you how beautiful and true-to-life the colours captured on the Asus Zenfone 3 are….
The optical image stabiliser was a great help while clicking these pictures since there was a wind and the plants were swaying about. Just look at the colours, sharpness and clarity!
Pictures speak a thousand words and even if I hadn’t written down a thousand words, it was pretty clear that the Asus Zenfone 3 is an incredible device! And I haven’t even explored all of it’s other features such as the Game Genie or the Sonic Master! And all of this at a price that doesn’t make your wallet / credit card bleed – Rs. 21,999.
Both the variants – the 5.2″ and the 5.5″ ones – are available on Flipkart.
You made some decent factors there. I looked on the internet for the difficulty and found most individuals will associate with along with your website.
