About the Vichy Double Glow Peel Mask

Price : ₹1500. Available here.

“The Vichy Double Glow Peel Mask is formulated to brighten dull skin through a double-peel action. First, the chemical action of AHA [fruit acids] helps remove dead cells. Then, the mechanical action of volcanic rock crushed into ultra-fine powder gently exfoliates skin. Combined vitamin CG to help illuminate skin tone and Vichy Mineralizing Thermal Water to help strengthen the skin’s moisture barrier function and protect against aggressors. Paraben-free.”

The Vichy Double Glow Peel Mask comes in a transparent glass jar with a mirror-finish silver lid. The actual product is so pretty that it’s nice to have a see-through jar that shows it’s lovely pink colour. Most people I know don’t prefer a jar packaging since you have to dip your fingers in to get the product out. I however, have no issues with jars and tubs since I ensure that my hands are clean while taking the product out.

Vichy Double Glow Peel Mask Review

This face mask is a five minute radiance booster to give you  luminous and glowing skin. The Vichy Double Glow Peel Mask looks like  baby pink jelly and is tempting enough to eat. It also has a light, refreshing fragrance of cassis, apple and white musk. The gel feels cooling on the skin when you apply it and tingles slightly on the sensitive area around my mouth.

The best thing about this mask is that it is a “quick-action” mask. You need to apply a thin layer,  leave it on the face for only 5 minutes and then gently massage and rinse it off to get radiant, smooth skin. That’s what makes this a perfect pre-party, pre-date night face mask since it is  not a time-consuming affair. What amazed me the first time I used this mask was that though it feels smooth and pulpy when you apply it, at the time of massaging, you can actually feel the slight grittiness of the finely crushed volcanic stone that is there in the mask. However, it is not at all abrasive and is totally non-irritating even on the sensitive area around my mouth!

In the picture above, you can see the texture of the mask but there are no granules or beads or anything at all to suggest that the mask has volcanic stones. It is only when you start massaging it that the crushed stones make their presence felt in a very gentle way – very impressive indeed.  Since it is a gel mask and not a clay mask, it doesn’t dry out your skin either and can be used on all skin types.

My Views

The main reason a person would love a particular brand / product is that the product does what it claims to. And that is the case with Vichy. Right from  all the Normaderm products that I have used to the LiftActive products  to the Aqualia, I have LOVED each and every product because it does what it claims to. Simple and effective. And the Vichy Double Glow Peel Mask is no exception. You don’t need much quantity per application so one 75ml jar would easily last you around 3 months. So if you want a mask to smoothen rough skin and add a glow to your face, a mask that doesn’t have to be left on for a long time, then I highly recommend this one.
