TBS Almond Milk & Honey Range Review

The Body Shop Almond Milk and Honey range review

I have  extremely dry skin on my body and no matter what the weather, I have to pamper it with lotions and potions to prevent it from resembling a stretch of arid land. Needless to say, when one of my favourite brands, The Body Shop, launched the Almond Milk and Honey range of bath and body products for dry and sensitive skin. The fact that it had organic almond milk, and no colorants, mineral oil or petrolatum just made it that much better.

The Body Shop Almond Milk and Honey Shower Cream review

I love using The Body Shop Shower Creams – the Shea butter and Cocoa butter ones have been favourites since long – and now I have the Almond Milk & Honey one which again, is fabulous. True to it’s name, it is thick and creamy, pretty much like  a milkshake, and doesn’t lather much. However, it cleanses the skin well, leaving it smooth and hydrated. In the current hot and humid weather of Mumbai, I don’t need to apply body lotion / body butter after showering with this, though perhaps I might need to once the weather starts getting cooler and drier.

The Body Shop Almond Milk & Honey Shower Cream has a very mild, soothing milky fragrance that doesn’t linger too long. I find this shower cream especially soothing for bedtime showers when I am too tired to apply body lotion and when the fragrance calms and soothes me. (For mornings, I usually prefer something that smells more refreshing and zesty).

The Body Shop Almond Milk and Honey Cream Scrub review

This is perhaps the gentlest scrub I have ever tried. It is so gentle, in fact, that I find it inadequate exfoliation for my skin because I am used to more abrasive exfoliators. The Body Shop Almond Milk & Honey Cream Scrub would be great for those with very sensitive skin that can’t handle over-exfoliation. What I love about this cream scrub is that it doesn’t dry out the skin at all and leaves it soft, smooth and comfortable. Thankfully, this scrub doesn’t have plastic micro-granules but has finely powdered almond shell. As with the shower cream, I don’t feel the need to apply a body lotion after using this scrub (in the current weather conditions).

The Body Shop Almond Milk and Honey Body Lotion

I have used The Body Shop Almond Milk & Honey Body Lotion just a couple of times and loved it so much that have kept it aside for when the weather is drier. It isn’t very liquidy – more like a lightweight cream – and yet is very moisturising without feeling heavy or sticky or greasy on the skin. Basically, it is just wonderful. It gets absorbed easily, gives lasting hydration and, as with the other products in this range, has a mild, soothing, creamy fragrance. I also love that it comes in a tube which makes it very travel-friendly. The Body Shop has always had some wonderful body lotions and butters and this one is among my favourites.
