One of my favourite beauty brands, MAC Cosmetics, recently held an event to celebrate the versatility of their Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour and I was thrilled to be among the select bloggers who were invited to unleash their creativity and mix shades to create their own unique ones. So in this post, I am going to share with you my review of the MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour along with the swatches of 20 of their shades.
About MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour
Price ₹2,050 / 5ml. Available here.
“A lip color that provides a splash of colour with a liquid-suede finish that lingers. For those who prefer timeless glamour to all-out flash, matte reigns supreme. MAC introduces a twist on this classic texture with robustly saturated shades of Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour. Whichever shade you choose, all promise one thing; a splash of colour in a liquid-suede finish that is impossible to forget.
Texture and Longevity
True to name, the MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolor dries down to a total matte finish. Because of it’s liquid texture, it is very comfortable to apply but once it settles down, does feel very dry on the lips. Because of it’s intense pigmentation and matte texture, it lasts all day long, unless you eat something oily or greasy in which case, the lipstick does break down a bit from the inner rim.
Also, these lipsticks cling to the dry patches of the lips and emphasise them, so you have to ensure that your lips are exfoliated and moiturised before you apply these.
As mentioned above, I have 20 shades which I have swatched here. Of course, the swatches look slightly different on the arm as compared to the lips because the pigmentation on both is different. However, I have to say that these lipsticks are true-to-colour and the shade you see in the tube is the one you get.
Lip Swatches – Video
Because the lipsticks invariably look different on the lips than they do when swatched on the arm, here’s a video I made with lip swatches of all the 20 shades.
