Cheeky Glow – a glow you get when you’ve been doing something…umm, cheeky? A really natural flush of colour that comes from within and doesn’t look like you’ve been working at it with a blush and a brush. That’s what Maybelline’s new blush, the Cheeky Glow, promises.
Here’s what Maybelline says about its new blush:
CHEEKY GLOW BLUSH
For Cheeks that glow with a natural finish
- Ultra light weight, silky, blendable powders
- Meet the new blush on the block. So Silky and smooth, it blends flawlessly for the most natural finish.
- Soft texture for a natural hue.
- Easily blends with your skin color
- Comes with 3 fresh colors for your pretty skin: Creamy Cinnamon, Fresh Coral and Peach Sweetie.
This little cutie comes in a round white pan with a transparent lid that securely. It doesn’t come with any brush which I feel is a good thing coz most brushes that come along with the blush are quite rubbish anyway. The lack of any brush makes the entire packaging very compact and lightweight and ideal to toss into your bag or makeup pouch.
The colour looks a bright peachy coral pink in the pan but on my skin, it looks more like a bright pink. Being intensely pigmented, you need just a light hand to get that perfect flush of colour on the cheeks. It is easy to blend too and doesn’t look chalky. The blush doesn’t have shimmer but when blended, gives a translucent wash of colour that looks quite natural (unless you really layer it on). It also lets your natural skin show through the colour (your freckles etc) when you apply it lightly and I love how natural it looks. As though you’ve just finished working out at the gym or, you know, had some other kinds of work out *wink wink*.
I wore the blush the whole evening and it lasted quite well on my combination skin though I was in and out of the AC and Bombay’s humid heat all evening. From 4 in the afternoon to about 8, it lasted well and then it started fading, which I think is a really good performance from a blush. I did try to take pictures but they’re all blurry pics taken on my cell in the moving car. I’ll do a better LOTD with this blush and put up pics soon.
Priced at Rs. 250, this is a really good, value-for-money blush. Because you don’t need much, this 7gm pot will last quite a while too. And of course, at this price, you can buy an extra to stash in your makeup bag too 😉
