I firmly believe that good skin is always the best makeup and if you follow my blog, then you would surely be aware of my fondness for Korean skincare. After the disappointment of Memebox stopping international deliveries, I have been seeking out other sources for my fix of Korean skincare products and one such is the Viestelook Box. Brainchild of the very popular youtuber Vivienne, Viestelook sources the very best in Korean skincare products and delivers them to skincare mavens (like me) at the lowest cost possible. Here’s the unboxing of one of the Korean skincare boxes available on the website – the Viestelook Moisture Boost Box.
About the Viestelook Moisture Boost Box
“Give your skin the nutrients it deserves. From aloe vera to cucumbers, this box brings you the moisture feast that you skin has been craving.
Dry winter weather is extremely harsh on all skin types. Whether youâre a dry skin beauty, oily skin beauty or anything in between your skin is sending out an S.O.S around this time of year. Even people who usually donât have a problem with dry skin may notice a lack of moisture in their skin during the colder months. This box was curated to replenish moisture and restore a healthy glow.”
The Viestelook Moisture Boost Box contained the following products, all of which are FULL SIZED:
- Nature Republic Soothing and Moisture Aloe Vera Cleansing Foam (150ml)
- Skinfood Premium Lettuce and Cucumber Watery Essence (25ml)
- The Face Shop Rice and Ceramide Emulsion (150ml)
- Skinfood Rice Mask Wash Off (100g)
- Mizon Water Volume Aqua Gel Creme (45ml)
Yes, all the products in the Viestelook Moisture Boost Box are full-sized! Let’s take a closer look at each of them….
Nature Republic Soothing and Moisture Aloe Vera Cleansing Foam
I have been using this facewash almost all through winter and it is gentle on the dry winter skin. It foams a lot but doesn’t leave the skin feeling tight and super dry unlike most other facewashes. Because it is a foaming face wash, you need just a small pea-sized amount for the entire face so this huge tube really will last a long, long time.
Skinfood Premium Lettuce and Cucumber Watery Essence
No Korean skincare routine is complete without an essence. This Watery Essence from Skinfood is enriched with Lettuce and Cucumber both of which are good for dry skin. I haven’t yet tried this essence but am keeping it for the hot summer months when my skin will need lightweight moisture. This essence will be just perfect then.
The Face Shop Rice and Ceramide Emulsion
Rice water is supposed to be beneficial in skincare in various ways – from it’s hydrating qualities to it’s brightening ones. The combination of rice and ceramide in this moisturising lotion is supposed to hydrate the skin as well as keep it plumped it and smooth. I haven’t started using this moisturiser either but it certainly looks very promising.
Skinfood Rice Mask Wash Off
This has got to be one of my favourite masks! I often make my own DIY scrub for the face as well as for the body (check out the recipe in this post) and I love using rice flour in my scrubs because it is so very gentle and yet super effective. This scrub is cooling, soothing and yet very effective too. Love!
Mizon Water Volume Aqua Gel Creme
This gel-cream has been described as a moisture powerhouse in a tube! And I have to say that I agree with that. All through winter, I have been using this on all the extra dry patches on my face (mainly around the mouth where my skin tends to get sensitive and peels) as well as on the cheeks of both my sons when we went on a holiday to keep their skin moisturised. It is very light weight, sinks into the skin in an instant and hydrates it beautifully.
Price
Priced at $45 (approx âš3000) + $19 for international shipping, you get 5 full sized Korean skincare products. The international shipping and the exchange rate does make the box a bit expensive for Indian customers but you certainly do get value for money.
My Views
I really liked all the products in the Moisture Boost Box. all of which are meant to infuse moisture into dry and dehydrated skin. While the box does turn out to be a bit pricy for Indians because of the exchange rate, for girls in other countries it does make a very good, value-for-money purchase. While Viestelook currently has only 4 boxes on sale on the website (of which this one is sold out), there are some new products / boxes that are going to be introduced by this weekend.
