The Faces Ultime Pro Lip Crayons (reviewed here) were the ones that got me to sit up and take notice of this brand, a brand I had previously never paid attention to. These lip crayons have amazing pigmentation, great texture and really nice longevity. Though I prefer cream and satin finish lipsticks to matte ones, I loved these, so of course, when the Faces Ultime Pro Creme Lip Crayons were launched, I was really excited. These come in 10 gorgeous shades of which I have 6. And the best part – they are retractable so you don’t need to mess with a sharpener! Read on to know my thoughts on these as well as for the swatches and LOTDs.
FACES Ultime Pro Creme Lip Crayons Review
About the Faces Ultime Pro Creme Lip Crayons
“A collection of 10 retractable Crème Lip Crayons that are rich, creamy and moisturizing. The high pigment of these lip crayons will provide a creamy finish that does not dry up the lips. These are long lasting, velvety soft and glides onto the lips, providing them full coverage. From beautiful nudes to striking reds to shades of pinks and corals & warms oranges there’s a shade for everyone.”
Texture, Pigmentation and Longevity
Of the 10 shades available in this range, I have the following 6:
- Confession
- Mochalicious
- Invincible
- Red Velvet
- Berry Punch
- Cherry Pop
All of these shades are absolutely gorgeous and true to claim, have a creamy finish that makes the lips look smooth and plumped up. While applying the lipstick, you might feel that it is not as creamy as it claims to be since it tugs a bit on the lips but once it’s on, give it a few seconds to settle and you get a super smooth, super creamy finish. The pigmentation is really nice – even with the the lightest shade, Confession which goes opaque in two swipes on my pigmented lips.
While I love creamy and glossy lipsticks, my biggest gripe with those is that they simply don’t last long enough. Not the Faces Ultime Pro Creme Lip Crayons though. They have a really good wear time – almost 5+ hours – and while the shine does reduce a bit after eating, the lipstick is pretty much intact. Infact, the pigmentation, the texture and the longevity of these lip crayons are comparable to the Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy lipstick and that’s saying a lot about the quality of these lip crayons. These aren’t transfer proof though.
Swatches
As you can see from the swatches, the shades are all not just beautiful, but also very pigmented and creamy. They don’t look patchy or uneven and when applied to the lips, they don’t settle into the fine lines either. What’s more, despite these being creamy, I didn’t experience any feathering while wearing these. Let’s take a look at each of the shades…
Confession
Confession is a beautiful nude shade – perfect for pairing with a smoky eye or simply to go with a no makeup look. However, this isn’t a shade that you can just swipe on and go – it needs a bit of work, a bit of makeup to look good or it’ll wash you out. In fact, for those with deeper skintones, it might be a bit too pale.
Mochalicious
Mochalicious is just the perfect MLBB shade for me – that perfect, versatile, wear-everywhere kind of shade. Something that’s a safe no-brainer and that I can reach out for and wear with any kind of outfit and any kind of makeup. Love this shade.
Invincible
Invincible is a bright coral, slightly neon lipstick. It is a lovely, summery shade thatleans more towards pink in certain lighting and more towards orange in others.
Red Velvet
If it were up to me, I would have named this shade as Red Silk instead of Red Velvet since that’s how it feels on the lips and that’s the kind of finish you get. Not a matte velvety one. Red Velvet is a true red that isn’t too bold or too bright. If you want to try out a red lipstick but don’t want something that screams for attention, try this one out.
Berry Punch
Of the 6 shades I have, Berry Punch has got to be my favourite. It is a mauve that brightens up my face and adds a bit of colour. It is a lovely day wear shade for autumn/winter and can be worn to work as well. If you had to buy just one shade from this range, I would highly, highly recommend this one since it is so pretty, so wearable and would suit all skintones.
Cherry Pop
Cherry Pop is a shade that is absolutely perfect for fall-winter. It is a beautiful berry pink shade that isn’t too dark or too gothic and that would look great on all skintones.
My Views
Ok, so what do I love about the Faces Ultime Pro Creme Lip Crayons? Firstly, the fact that these are retractable crayons, (hate sharpening makeup products), then the amazing quality of these crayons – the creamy texture that doesn’t dry the lips, the smooth finish thatmakes thin lips appear more plumped up, the 5+ hour wear time, the fabulous shades. At ₹749, I feel that these are quite well priced for the fabulous quality you get. Oh, and these are paraben-free too!
Do you prefer matte lipsticks or cream ones? Which of these shades did you like the most? Do let me know in the comments below.
