I love travelling. I mean, seriously, L-O-V-E it. Which is surprising because Capricorns aren’t really known for their wanderlust. They are the ones who are content staying in the warmth of the home and hearth, whereas I’m just the opposite. I could spend all my life travelling. You know. In theory.
If you’ve seen any of my travel pictures, you would have realised that I don’t wear makeup when on a holiday. Not that I wear much makeup anyway, but on a holiday, it’s just sunscreen (or rarely, a BB cream), with kohl and a lip balm. Or, if the mood strikes, a bright lipstick. But that’s the extent of my holiday makeup. And yet, that almost-barefaced look makes me feel pretty. Perhaps it’s just the fun and excitement of travel that reflects on my face, but if feel that travelling gives me plenty of Khoobsurat moments….
If you follow me on Instagram, you would have seen this pic that I posted on Friday when I was on my way to the Radisson Blu Resort, Alibaug for the long weekend. There’s absolutely no makeup on my face and but somehow, the acne scars are barely visible. Guess the early morning lighting has something to do with it??
The only “makeup” I’m wearing in this picture, taken in May in Phuket, is the L’Oréal Paris UV Perfect Aqua Sunscreen and a peachy lipgloss. No foundation, no bronzer, no eyeshadow. No blow dry either…just natural wind-blown waves. I love the brown tint that I get from Casting Creme Gloss. Though it is a light shade, it looks so natural on my hair and gives a lovely black-brown tint in the sunlight which is almost identical to my natural hair colour. And it covers all my greys….
This picture was taken atop the Mehrangarh fort in Jodhpur last December. Though it isn’t a closeup, you can make out that I’m not wearing makeup. And yes, all that ghee-laden Marwari cuisine had me piling on the pounds….
This is one of my favourite selfies that I took last year in Hong Kong. This is one of the rare moments when I’m wearing a bright lipstick on a holiday though it doesn’t seem that bright in the yellow lighting. We were enjoying a lazy afternoon before heading out to Victoria Peak and that’s when I took this picture.
Honestly, when I’m travelling, I like a fuss-free look, whether it’s my makeup or my hair. A good hair colour makes a big difference to your look, especially if it is a gentle one like Casting that keeps your hair shiny and smooth. And you don’t have to worry about greys showing up in your holiday pictures…
Psst…be ready with your Khoobsurat Moments. I shall be having a wonderful contest in a couple of days 😉

Sometimes it seems like a single lifetime is not enough to visit all the places one wants to. Lovely pictures 🙂
